Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, June 27, reveals that Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) tried to talk Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) out of sending Xander Cook’s (Paul Telfer) mom a wedding invitation since a “raging alcoholic” like her could be a loose cannon.
Sarah stood her ground, so Theresa offered to help stuff envelopes and managed to swipe Fiona Cook’s (Serena Scott Thomas) invitation.
Bonnie Kiriakis (Judi Evans) suggested Sarah and Theresa should have a double wedding, but neither bride was very enthusiastic about the idea – especially since Xander and Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) didn’t get along.
Later, Bonnie found Fiona’s invitation in the trash and assumed Sarah let Theresa get inside her head.
That led to Bonnie deciding she’d put Fiona’s invitation in the mail herself since she felt Sarah would be grateful in the end.
At Basic Black on Thursday’s Days episode, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) warned Alex that Theresa could be after his money, but Alex pointed out that she was interested in him before his windfall.
However, Brady thought back to Theresa being alone with Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) briefcase in Greece and suggested she could’ve peeked at the will.
Alex refused to believe Theresa was playing him all this time, so he called Brady’s theory trash and warned him not to mention it again – especially in front of Theresa.
Once Theresa showed up, Brady congratulated her on the engagement and respected Alex’s wishes by not sharing his theory.
At the pub on Thursday’s Days episode, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) called Nicole DiMera (Arianne Zucker) to check on her since he didn’t plan on coming to the office today.
Eric still wanted to see how Nicole was doing after all the Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) and Tate Black (Leo Howard) drama.
Nicole was grateful to Eric, so he let her know that he’d always be there for her as well as Holly.
Afterward, Eric admitted to Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) that he was looking at job opportunities outside of Salem since it was too hard to be around “Jude DiMera” aka Jude Brady (Oliver McLarty).
Eric hinted about things being complicated with Nicole too, so he was seriously considering a major move – though he assured Roman that nothing was set in stone yet.
At The Spectator, Xander told Nicole that he was glad she got Jude back, but he acted like this must be Eric’s worst nightmare.
Nicole pointed out this was the second child Eric had lost, so Xander acknowledged that the first one happened due to his baby swap.
However, Xander thought Nicole was a hypocrite since she had her own baby-stealing history. That led to Nicole and Xander throwing even more past offenses in each other’s faces.
Things calmed down once Xander opened up about his parents later.
Xander mentioned that his mom was done with him after he started getting into trouble with the law, but Victor came to his rescue and became a mentor – which Fiona didn’t like.
After Xander’s dad passed away, his mom began drinking heavily to numb her pain.
Xander suggested it was like losing both parents, so Nicole thanked him for sharing since it almost made him seem human.
While Xander met up with Sarah in the town square, Eric paid Nicole a visit at The Spectator and admitted he had something to tell her.
At the DiMera mansion on Thursday’s Days episode, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) had updates on Gabi Hernandez DiMera’s (Cherie Jimenez) case and shared them with Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash).
The good news was the judge was receptive to EJ’s argument about Gil Carter (David S. Lee) being the more probable culprit of Li Shin’s (Remington Hoffman) demise.
The bad news was the judge refused to sign off on Gabi’s release based on the photocopies of Clyde Weston’s (James Read) black book.
The judge wanted the real thing instead, which was a problem since Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) was holding that black book hostage and had disappeared.
EJ pointed out that Melinda wasn’t taking his calls, which wasn’t a surprise since he stole her job.
Stefan urged EJ to give Melinda the immunity she’d been asking for regarding the Jude situation.
EJ objected since he didn’t know how to explain that to Nicole, but Stefan acted like that wasn’t his problem.
If EJ didn’t get Gabi out of prison today, then Stefan made it clear that the paternity truth would come out and EJ would lose his family.
Once EJ was alone, he called Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) for help with Melinda while Stefan headed to Statesville.
Gabi appeared in the visiting area, so Stefan lit up when he saw her and greeted her by name.
Our DOOL predictions point to Stefan and Gabi facing more obstacles thanks to his Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) betrayal, so stay tuned to see the issues that are still to come.
Fortunately, Days of Our Lives spoilers say Gabi and Stefan will have a reason to celebrate in the meantime thanks to her upcoming freedom.
