Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, August 20, reveals that Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) decided to stage an intervention and try to snap Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) out of her split personality, so he called her about an emergency and asked her to come over.
In the town square on Tuesday’s Days episode, Hattie Adams (Deidre Hall) met Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman), who was stunned over how much she resembled his grandmother.
Hattie found out Johnny was directing on Body and Soul, so she brought up some issues with the script.
Johnny thought the scripts were best left to the writers, so that gave Hattie the idea to turn to Leo for help.
Once Hattie arrived, Leo called her “Dr. Evans” and tried to convince her that she had dissociative identity disorder.
Hattie denied it and insisted she was her own person, but Leo tried to physically drag her off to Bayview.
Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) showed up and explained that Hattie was actually Marlena’s doppelganger, so Leo was both shocked and apologetic.
Once Kate officially named Leo the new head writer of Body and Soul, Hattie was happy for him and pushed him to make the script tweaks she wanted.
Back in the town square on Tuesday’s DOOL episode, Chanel DiMera (Raven Bowens) admitted to Johnny that she was looking for a new dream to pursue now that she’d hired more staff at the bakery.
Although Chanel wasn’t sure what she wanted her creative outlet to be yet, Johnny was supportive.
At The Bistro on Tuesday’s Days episode, Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) caught up with Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) and inadvertently spilled water all over her laptop, which caused it to freeze completely.
Alex apologized profusely since Stephanie lost her new PR proposal, but she touched his hand and insisted she knew it was an accident.
Bonnie Kiriakis (Judi Evans) and Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) walked in on the close moment, which led to Bonnie urging Alex to give his relationship with Stephanie another chance – especially since Justin had official annulment documents to deliver.
Alex was relieved to know it was like his marriage to Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) never happened, but he didn’t think it was a good idea to go back down a romantic road with Stephanie.
At the Body and Soul office, Abe got updates on Stephanie’s lost proposal and didn’t care since this meeting was just a formality anyway.
Stephanie got the job since Abe already knew she was the perfect person to help relaunch the soap opera.
Afterward, Stephanie gave Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) news on her latest PR gig and mentioned she was in charge of Everett Lynch’s (Blake Berris) ashes since no family could be located.
Back with Abe, he spoke to Johnny about a new storyline involving Arrow and Faith, a star-crossed couple who pushed each other’s buttons while the audience rooted for their off-the-charts tension.
Johnny thought Chanel would be perfect for the part of Faith, so he suggested they just needed to find her a leading man that she had chemistry with.
In the town square again on Tuesday’s Days episode, Alex and Chanel bickered about the time he hooked up with Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold), which led to an argument about their threesome, too.
Once Johnny and Abe found the shouting match in progress, they clearly realized they’d found their duo with off-the-charts tension!
