Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, June 19, reveals that Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) brought the twins to Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) and Abe Carver’s (James Reynolds) place to surprise them on their anniversary, which was also Juneteenth.
Eli saw the nearby goodbye banner and got updates on the fact that this was a going away party for Chanel DiMera (Raven Bowens) and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman), too.
Next on Wednesday’s Days episode, Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) found Chanel crying outside Sweet Bits, so Chanel explained she was closing it due to her Los Angeles move with Johnny.
Chanel also gave Lani the news about hearing her baby’s heartbeat for the first time and patching things up with Paulina.
Lani and Chanel eventually made their way to Abe and Paulina’s apartment, so they were all thrilled over the family reunion.
Eli mentioned that the twins were napping, but he was sure they’d be excited to see Aunt Chanel once they woke up.
At the DiMera mansion on Wednesday’s Days episode, Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) pressured EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) to get the district attorney position back and free Gabi Hernandez DiMera (last played by Camila Banus).
Johnny walked and seemed suspicious, especially after Stefan dropped some cryptic hints about EJ losing something that didn’t belong to him.
However, EJ downplayed it as typical DiMera drama and faced a shocker once Johnny admitted he was moving to LA with Chanel.
Johnny explained that he was going after his dream job, so EJ respected his conviction and offered his blessing.
Later, Johnny showed up at Paulina and Abe’s place for the going away party.
Since EJ was parking the car, Johnny hoped it was OK that he said his dad could come.
EJ entered on Wednesday’s DOOL show and asked if Paulina had a spot for him at her table, so she relented and let him stay.
There was tension as EJ ultimately cornered Paulina and Abe alone in an attempt to strike a deal.
Since EJ had been ousted at DiMera Enterprises and there was no longer a conflict of interest, he saw no reason why Paulina shouldn’t reinstate him.
Paulina called it blackmail since EJ would only drop the recall petition if she caved in, but he thought it was more of a quid pro quo.
After Paulina surrendered and reinstated EJ, she did damage control with Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) over the phone.
As for the Juneteenth, the wedding anniversary and the farewell party, Chanel made three little cakes that were lit with candles to celebrate.
Abe also read a poem to celebrate Juneteenth with his loved ones.
Outside the pub on Wednesday’s Days episode, Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) ran into Stefan and pitched the idea of him making Clyde Weston (James Read) think he could restart his drug operation.
Jada thought it might be a way to score info on Gil Carter (David S. Lee) and clear Gabi’s name, but Stefan refused to tangle himself in Clyde’s web again.
Although Jada realized Stefan must have another scheme in the works, he didn’t divulge any details.
Stefan eventually made it back to the DiMera mansion, where he learned EJ was the DA once more.
That left Stefan excited since he assumed EJ’s first order of business would be making sure Gabi walked free.
In Chicago, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Julie Williams’ (Susan Seaforth Hayes) plan hit a snag since they didn’t have the combination for the safe deposit box, which actually belonged to Rebecca Goldman (Christy St. John).
Fortunately, Chad called Rafe, who convinced Rebecca to cooperate.
Rafe got the code from Rebecca and gave it to Chad, who punched the numbers in and opened the box.
There was a flash drive inside, so Chad put it in a laptop and watched the footage on it with Julie.
A mystery woman (AnnaLynne McCord) could be seen pacing around in captivity somewhere, but Chad and Julie couldn’t see her face.
Once Julie and Chad made it back to Salem, Chad learned Clyde had already been transferred and couldn’t have visitors in supermax.
That left Chad frustrated since he needed more answers about Abigail DiMera (last played by Marci Miller).
When Eli paid Julie a visit with the twins, she mentioned having some issues to deal with out of town earlier, but she had no idea whether she was successful.
