Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, May 15, reveals that Nicole DiMera (Arianne Zucker) talked to EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) about her issues with Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) and all the custody drama with Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) when Holly was a baby.
Nicole had hoped to raise their little boy from day one, but she told EJ that it wasn’t in the cards and left him looking guilty once she left.
At The Spectator on Wednesday’s Days episode, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) found Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) in the office and learned he came with Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) for Take Your Kid to Work Day.
Thomas wanted to be a reporter like Abigail DiMera (last played by Marci Miller) and was working on a mystery meat story for school, so Eric offered up a camera for him to practice taking pictures with.
Later, Nicole showed up to work and found a notebook hidden in the false bottom of her desk drawer.
Chad realized Abigail’s handwriting was inside and noted that the last entry was just a few weeks before her demise.
After Chad looked through the information Abigail had gathered, he called Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and learned Abby was working on something heavy that she hadn’t offered details about.
Based on the drug-related stats, Chad thought Abigail was about to break the story of the drug operation in Salem.
Abigail was onto Clyde Weston (James Read), so Chad wondered if Clyde knew that.
In the park on Wednesday’s Days episode, Sloan Petersen-Brady (Jessica Serfaty) found a drunk Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) and made it clear that he needed to get over his heartbreak.
Furthermore, Sloan argued that Nicole was doing fine without Jude Brady and suggested Leo needed to move past all the guilt.
Leo struggled to do that and wondered how Sloan slept at night under the circumstances.
Although Leo was confused over why EJ bought his silence and wasn’t taking Jude back, Sloan pushed him to stop asking questions and just honor his agreement with EJ.
Next on Wednesday’s DOOL show, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) met with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) at the apartment where Li Shin (Remington) and Gil Carter (David S. Lee) both faced grim fates.
Since Rafe thought those fatal ordeals were connected, he told Ava that Gil may have come there looking for her the day Li was wiped out.
Ava hated the thought of Wendy Shin’s (Victoria Grace) brother getting eliminated because of her, but Rafe suggested it was a case of Li being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Rafe didn’t think he was getting the whole story from Ava, so he asked why Stefan obviously covered for her when he turned himself in.
When Rafe wondered if Ava and Stefan were having an affair, she insisted Gabi Hernandez DiMera (last played by Camila Banus) was the only woman Stefan loved.
Rafe didn’t get why Gil came to see Ava at the apartment instead of the restaurant, but Ava argued that it was so he’d have somewhere private to assault her.
Although Rafe brought up Ava’s criminal past and kept struggling to understand the situation, Ava cried over what happened with Gil and assured Rafe that she didn’t know anything else.
Rafe accepted that for now, but he insisted he wouldn’t stop digging since Gabi’s freedom was at stake.
Once Ava canceled her shift at the pub, she seemed upset as she left Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) a voicemail and told him to call her back.
Ava was rattled over all the Gil talk and didn’t know how she’d tell Wendy that she might’ve been the reason for Li’s demise.
It left Ava hoping Rafe was wrong on Wednesday’s Days episode.
Rafe, Stefan and Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) eventually ended up at the DiMera mansion with EJ, who got updates on the new evidence that Rafe handed over.
However, EJ wasn’t impressed over Gil’s fingerprint being in Li’s blood on the black book.
After EJ refused to reopen the case and said his decision was final, that left Rafe, Kristen and Stefan outraged.
