Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers for the week of December 2-6 reveal that Doug Williams’ (Bill Hayes) demise will bring some familiar faces back to town. Longtime viewers will be delighted to see some characters who haven’t been seen in many years, so let’s discuss what’s ahead.
Liz Chandler (Gloria Loring), Marie Horton (Maree Cheatham) and Steven “Steve” Olson (Stephen Schnetzer) will appear for DOOL’s memorial tribute to Doug.
The added support will no doubt be a comfort to Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes).
Look for Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) to get an unexpected visit from Liz, so they’ll have a lot to catch up on.
Liz will also have a tense encounter with Marie during her return stint – and Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) will have a chance to reunite with Marie, too.
As for Julie’s brother, Steven or Steve depending on what he’s going by now, he’ll get acquainted with Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) and perhaps form a surprising friendship.
Doug’s funeral will be part of DOOL’s 15,000th episode celebration, so it’ll feel bittersweet to honor that milestone on this somber occasion.
However, Julie will be adamant about keeping the focus on what a wonderful life Doug lived and all the people he loved.
During Ciara Brady Weston’s (Victoria Konefal) return trip to Salem, she’ll somehow figure out how to open that time capsule that stumped everyone earlier this year.
There’ll be some excitement as Days finally shows the contents of that mystery box.
Belle Black (Martha Madison) will also head back to Salem and pay her respects to Doug, which should lead to her revealing to Marlena that her marriage to Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) didn’t work out.
Of course, Doug’s passing will serve as a reminder for Paulina Price (Jackée Harry), Lani Grant (Sal Stowers) and Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens) to savor every moment while they still have each other, so they’ll indeed enjoy some family bonding.
Speaking of family bonding, Hope will do some of that with Ciara and Shawn as they all cope with the loss of Doug together.
Hope will break down in tears at Doug’s grave, but she’ll get some support from Shawn and Ciara in the aftermath.
The cemetery will also serve as the backdrop for Julie’s shocker since Doug will suddenly appear.
Days might use old clips of Doug’s voice and let a heavenly light shine down, but this could also have something to do with a new character’s debut.
Peyton Meyer will portray someone who shows up and introduces himself to Julie, so he may be Doug’s long-lost grandson.
There’s history and evidence to support that idea, so perhaps he’ll be named Doug as well.
It looks like Jennifer Horton Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) will spot Julie and Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) giving Meyer’s character updates on some old family tales.
Hope will find out about this new character’s arrival sooner or later, but it’ll set off some alarm bells for her and leave her with trust issues.
Other Days spoilers say Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) will console JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) as he grieves for Doug, so they’ll grow closer in the process.
Next, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) will try to avoid Clyde Weston’s (James Read) detection as their trap moves forward, but could Clyde be a few steps ahead of the game?
Finally, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) will launch a confrontation with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) about pressuring Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) to leave town, so the father and son have a heated faceoff on the way.
