In tonight’s FBI International episode, a bomb went off at their headquarters. The international arm of the FBI had a high value informant. Her name is Olivia Thornton. They could use her to take down an infamous arms dealer named Yusuf Sydin and unfortunately that person realized that the feds had her.

They bombed FBI’s headquarters in Hungary in order to kill their informant. Only it appeared that Special Agent Raines was able to warn his team in time. He got a bad feeling about the delivery driver that dropped off a package earlier. He told his team about it. They were able to survive the bombing thanks to him.

They were still knocked off their feet. Which was better than dead. Raines was the first person to enter that building. He spotted Olivia running past him.

She claimed that the redhead released her from the handcuffs and that she was going to get help, but that was a lie. She stole the keys off of an unconscious Smitty. She also took Smitty’s gun with her. She was on the run and Raines didn’t stop her because he wanted to check on his team before anything else. He went into the building in spite of it being unsecure.

There was falling debris everywhere. He got to his team and then a ceiling fell on him. Raines was trapped under there until his team got him out. He could no longer feel his leg after he was freed. He was rushed to the hospital along with Smitty. Smitty took most of the brunt of the bomb.

Supervisory Special Agent Scott Forrester took charge of the scene in the meantime. He set up a new office at the American Embassy. He even brought in Analyst Amanda Tate to help them put their manhunt together to find Olivia.

Olivia was a crucial witness. She only agreed to testify if they could safeguard her family. After that bomb went off, Olivia must have realized the Americans weren’t a safe bet. She was on the run.

She probably had several plans in place for such a situation. She couldn’t go back to her old life. She couldn’t live out in the open with Sydin wanting to kill her. Or with the FBI looking for her. She was going to the ground. Forrester’s top priority was finding her. They searched nearby cameras. They tried to liaison with the Hungarian.

It just didn’t look good for the team. They were left in trouble after what happened. They all wanted Olivia back to help them take down Sydin and Olivia must have realized that. She later called Forrester. She tried to negotiate a better deal for herself. The last one would have her in total lockdown until she testifies. She wanted to negotiate a deal that would allow her to keep all of her ill-gotten gains and give her access to her family. Olivia knew she could escape without the FBI finding her if they wouldn’t negotiate.

Olivia was coming from a position of strength. The only thing that the feds had on her was her family. They had her boyfriend and son in custody. The long-term boyfriend was questioned. He claimed not to know anything about Olivia being involved in arms deals. He truly thought Olivia was a travel blogger. He said he would never have a child with someone as dangerous as Olivia if he knew what she really was. Forrester threatened to put their son in foster care and the man still said he didn’t know anything about Olivia’s real life. Or where she was hiding.

Forrester ultimately decided to let the man return home with his son. He was going to keep watch on them to see if Olivia would try to make contact, but he was dealing with a lot. The American government wasn’t happy that he let Olivia escape. They really want to take down Sydin before Sydin inadvertently funds a terrorist attack. Also, things weren’t looking good at the hospital. Raines couldn’t feel his leg because the debris nicked his artery. The hospital wasn’t prepared for such a serious case. They were talking about amputation when they took him into surgery.

Special Agent Kellet was keeping an eye on her fallen comrades. She contacted headquarters for help. They were sending an experienced combat surgeon to see if this person could save Raines’s leg and she was just waiting around with Smitty while the rest of the team went back to looking for Olivia. Olivia has a tell. She starts talking fast with lots of detail when she’s lying. Forrester realized she was lying about turning herself in. He also learned that her boyfriend refused police protection. Forrester put two and two together.

He knew that the boyfriend was planning on joining Olivia with their son. They were all going on the run together. Only Vo hid a tracker in a stuffed toy she gave Olivia’s little boy. They tracked down Olivia to where she met up with her family. Forrester was going to arrest her when suddenly a drive by shooter sped by. They shot Olivia and killed Olivia before escaping. With Olivia gone, there goes their whole case against Sydin. The feds later caught up to the man that killed her and who also bombed them.

Special Agent Powell was able to take him down with one on one combat. Which sadly wasn’t enough to flip him. The guy wasn’t talking. He wasn’t going to give up Sydin and so it looked like Sydin was going to get away, but Raines’s surgery was a success. Kellet broke the good news to the team. She then decided to announce her retirement. Kellet was leaving the Fly Team so that she could go traveling. She had already made her decision before the bombing. The whole situation throughout the day merely confirmed that she should leave.

Kellet promised herself to live for both herself as well as her late sister. Her sister had committed suicide when she was young. She never got to live her life fully and so Kellet realized she has to do it for the both of them. It was promised she made to her sister. It was a promise she intends to keep. Meanwhile the case against Sydin took a turn. They found enough evidence against the hitman to put him away for life and so that got him talking. He gave them all they needed against Sydin. And Sydin was willing to take a plea agreement himself once he knew he was cooked.

Raines was going to be in rehab for a while. Kellet was leaving. Forrester needed to fill out his team and so he poached the analyst, Amanda Tate.

And the Hungarian police were later able to track down the mole that got Olivia killed.

THE END!
