In tonight’s FBI International episode, the Department of Justice was making a case against the Chain Cutters. The Chain Cutters are a group of mercenaries led by Sam Keaton that were supposedly stopping child trafficking. They started out as that and they’ve since done a one-eighty.
They still take in donations from around the world, but now they use that money to fund lavish lifestyles. Not the rescue of abducted children. They were also hindering real actions used to combat child trafficking. The FBI were making a case against them for fraud when they got someone from within the organization to turn. They got Tyler Selvidge.
Ty has been with the group since day one. He was willing to turn against them because they crossed a line. They started kidnapping children from villages only to return them later on.
It was a ploy to make them appear as if they were really rescuing children. It also helps them with donations if they have successful missions to talk about. Ty couldn’t live with himself after they started doing that. He agreed to testify against Keaton. He also collected evidence against him. The evidence proved he started kidnapping children for false flag operations.
Ty even got a record of some money laundering as well. He was talking with the Romanian police. Supervisory Special Agent Scott Forrester sent in Raines and Tate. Tate has been riding a desk for a while. She wasn’t really a field agent. Forrester sent her because she could understand Ty’s files.
It was their job to collect Ty and bring him back to Budapest. They unfortunately got ambushed before that could happen. Someone blocked their cell phones. They followed the agents to the off the grid safehouse where Ty was being held and Ty was killed along with several border police.
Raines tried to fight back. The shooter took off into the woods. Raines and Tate pursued him. He managed to evade them and he got away with a second person.
This second person was a child. They could tell by their footprints. They lost them in the woods. Only they did find Keaton. Keaton was too big to be the guy that shot at them. His footprints didn’t match. They still detained him. They questioned him. He said that they were looking for Ty. He claimed to be worried. He wasn’t after they told him Ty was killing trying to turn against him.
They also asked Keaton about their shooter. Keaton identified him right away. He said it was Xavier Lee. Lee talked a big game about being former special ops.
He was a poser and they let him join the Chain Cutters because they needed losers like him. People to help sell the con. According to Keaton, Lee was looking for a cause. They gave him the Chain Cutters. He took things too far by believing their myth of helping people and the child he’s been keeping in a cage could be an orphan he thinks he’s saving.
Tate and Raines walked with a handcuffed Keaton to a nearby lumbar yard. They used the data service there to get in touch with their team. They also started sending Ty’s files to them. It turns out Keaton lied about a lot of things. Little Dora Bogden wasn’t an orphan. Her parents are desperately looking for her.
Keaton also led them back to that lumbar yard because he owns it. His people showed up. Raines thought they were innocent. He tried to bribe them to take them into town and Tate warned him in time that he didn’t get shot.
Their Budapest friends connected Keaton to that lumber yard. They were being paid by the same shell company operating from Delaware. They warned Tate.
Tate warned Raines. They took down three men. They also stopped Keaton from escaping. It was taking forever to load the files because Lee put a bug on Keaton’s laptop. He thought it would lead him to Keaton. He doesn’t care about killing Ty. He wanted to kill Keaton. He thought Keaton was the bringer of evil. Forrester found out that Lee was severely mentally ill.
He was schizophrenic as well as bipolar. He’s been committed to several mental hospitals. He grew up in foster care. He failed a psych evaluation and that’s why he was never allowed into the military or the police department. He plans on killing Keaton for betraying the mission.
If he doesn’t get Keaton, he plans on killing an innocent child to redeem her soul. He was sick. He was also following the agents. Tate took a gunshot wound to the arm during the shootout at the lumbar yard. They took the car. They got back to the town with Keaton as their prisoner.
Raines made sure that Tate got treated for her wound. He also told her she won’t be involved in what comes next. He doesn’t want to risk her life. She still has a child to go home to.
Keaton chose to set up his place in a great area for crime. It was like the wild wild west. There wasn’t a cop outpost for fifty miles. The people in the nearby villages also didn’t talk. Lee followed them there. He tried shooting them because they refused to hand over Keaton. Lee was stationed at the church. He strapped a bomb to Dora as a backup.
Raines tried to stop him only Lee got the better of him. He would have killed that little girl if it wasn’t for Tate. She came to the rescue and she killed Lee. They rescued the little girl. Their people sent the cavalry to come for them. Keaton was arrested. And Tate returned Dora to her parents.
Tate and Raines stayed long enough in the city to attend mass because they needed it after the day they had.
