In tonight’s FBI episode, there was a shooting in broad daylight. Duncan Martin was shot in the street by someone that fled in a car afterwards. There were plenty of witnesses. There were actually two nurses in the area and they tried to offer first aide until the ambulance came. It sadly wasn’t enough to save him.

Duncan later died from his wounds, but his death became a federal case because he was the President as well as CEO of the New York Bank of the Federal Reserve. His killer even had the audacity to steal his car when they used it to flee. The car could be tracked. They tracked it back to Queens where they saw it abandoned.

The car was searched. There was a dash cam. They used that camera to piece together what happened. Duncan had accidentally hit a young woman with his car.

He got out of it to check on her when her male partner shot him and stole his car. There was blood found in the car. It was from the women that Ducan accidentally hit. She wasn’t faking it. She really was injured. She could also be facing internal bleeding because there was a lot of blood. The feds were concerned about her and they tried looking for her.

All they got were a dead ends at first. The car was left abandoned in a parking lot. Roy Kim stole the car from there and he took it back to his place to clean it up before taking it to a chop shop.

The feds thought Roy was their shooter until they cleared him. They checked out his story. They saw that he stole the car after finding it abandoned. He just wasn’t their guy. They had to keep looking and eventually they were able to trace the injured women not far from the car. She was clearly dying. They had come too late to save her and she died before they could get help.

The oddest thing though was that Jubal has seen her before. He recognized her face. He couldn’t pinpoint where he remembered her from and he dropped the matter after dealing with some personal problems.

His son had gotten suspended from school after he was caught drinking. Jubal was an alcoholic. His teenage son was now drinking and Jubal couldn’t afford to ignore it. Not when he potentially passed on the gene to his son. Tyler hasn’t had it easy. He had cancer. He struggled with finding friends and it seems the drinking thing was also about finding friends.

Jubal was thinking about putting his son back into therapy when the case took a turn. They found out that the female victim was also a hostage. Her abductor had brought her outside to get checked by a doctor because she had pneumonia. She used that opportunity to try to escape. She got hit by a car and unfortunately her abductor caught up to her. Now she’s dead because of this man. He refused to get her help. He’s killed two people so far. The FBI found out what doctor she saw. Some hack that was going through a divorce and took money under the table to keep it from his ex-wife.

Anyways, there was a security camera outside of the doctor’s office. They saw the moment that the woman escaped her captor. They also got a good image of her captor and ran facial recognition. He was identified as Luke Hopkins. He was forty-three. Single. He’s had trouble with women and was once accused of stalking. They got a warrant for his home. They went there and they found signs that a teenager was being held there and that there were signs of another teenager being held hostage. Hopkins must have returned to the house to flee with the second girl.

They saw signs from the house that showed one of the girls wrote GM over and over. It triggered Jubal’s memory. He finally remembered where he saw the girl. She was once a case of his. Jillian and Gabby Martinez were abducted from their home eight years ago. Everyone assumed they were killed by a known serial killer back then. Jubal had even told their father that the girls were dead. It seems he was wrong about that. The girls were still alive. Up until Jillian got hit by the car and died from her injuries.

Hopkins has now fled with Gabby. Jubal went with Isobel to break the news to the girls’ father. The man was so enraged that he would have killed Jubal, but he held onto the hope that Gabby was at least still alive. Gabby was being held by Hopkins. Hopkins stole a car from his foster brother. It turns out that Hopkins’s birth parents did horrible things to their foster children and they’d beat Hopkins if the foster siblings tried to rebel. After he was removed from that house, he spent time in a psychiatric facility. And he went on to live with his foster family after that.

Hopkins was still pretty violent. His foster family threw him out because of it. He actually beat up his foster brother and stole the brother’s car when he went on the run with Gabby. Hopkins was deeply troubled after what happened with his family. Both of his families. He began seeking a family he could dominate and control. People who couldn’t be taken from him. He told his foster brother that he’d die before anyone took his family away. He’s deranged. He thinks in his own sick way that he loves those girls. And it was those girls that will be his undoing.

The car Hopkins stole from his foster brother was tracked to the Bronx. The FBI as well as local NYPD had him cornered him. Hopkins had a gun. He took Gabby into a store and took the whole store hostage.

They tried talking him down by calling the store. Hopkins kept saying that no one was taking his family away from him. He was threatening to kill people if they didn’t allow him to escape with Gabby. The feds accessed the cameras inside the store. They saw that Gaby grabbed a weapon while Hopkins was distracted.

Gabby knocked out Hopkins. She grabbed his gun. She then started firing at the cops. She started firing at Hopkins. She shot him in the leg and she was unraveling.

She demanded to know where her sister was. They brought her father down to the scene. They contacted Gabby. They had her talk to her dad. Her dad broke the news that Jillian was dead. Gabby was so angry that she was going to kill Hopkins only he grabbed for the gun. And Jubal had to put him down.

Gabby was freed for the first time in eight years. She wasn’t ready to talk to her father. Only he wasn’t going anywhere. He was going to keep loving her and supporting her through whatever came next. Jubal blamed himself for the whole thing. He was talking to Maggie about it when Maggie told him that he couldn’t have foreseen this or any of it. He did his job the best way he could.

And afterwards Jubal decided to go with Tyler to therapy.

THE END!
