The New York Office of the FBI became involved in an abduction. Eric Cantwell was abducted in broad daylight. He was an adult man that lived in the neighborhood and he was abducted on federal property. Making this case a two-fer. There was also a witness that tried to intervene. He got shot at. He described the perpetrator as medium average build guy wearing a black hoodie with a black mask. He drove away in either a silver or gray car. The witness saw the abductor put Eric into the trunk at gunpoint. This was when he tried to intervene and found himself dodging bullets. And the man drove away with Eric before additional help could arrive.

Eric was known in that neighborhood. The witness didn’t know his last name. He just knew him as Eric and that he had opened a lounge in the neighborhood. From there, the FBI was able to identify him. They got his name. They found out where he lived. They also learned that his lounge had become a hotspot. The FBI searched surveillance cameras in that neighborhood where he had been taken. Most of them were down because they had been vandalized. The few that did work showed that the silver car drove out of the city.

They were able to track it down to a lake. Everyone feared the perp was dumping a body. They went there. They saw the hooded man getting into the car and Maggie tried to stop them. She held her gun at them. She was right in their path and they just kept on driving. Maggie was actually riding on the hood of the car for a while before she was shaken off. She’s alright. Eric on the other hand was found by that lake with a mortal gunshot wound. The most he could say about his killer before he passed was that it was the “Russians”.

The FBI tried visiting Eric’s place to ask his co-workers if they knew what he was talking about. There was a waitress that said that Eric was in some kind of trouble and he tried to buy a gun. The FBI tried to talking to Eric’s business partner next, but they found him murdered in the back of the lounge. He was killed by the same gun that killed Eric. Only the feds found someone that works in the kitchen. He at least knew what was going on. He said that his bosses were being extorted for two grand every week by the Russian mob.

It was protection money. They paid and nothing will happen to them. Eric and his partner Terry didn’t want to pay it. They both got killed as a way of sending a message to everyone else in the neighborhood. The FBI has a presence in that neighborhood. They learned that it was mostly comprised of Eastern Europeans. They just weren’t Russians. They were Ukrainians. People confuse them because their language sounds pretty similar. Also, it’s not like people are asking for the mob’s ethnicity during a shakedown.

The Ukrainian mob runs that neighborhood. The guy in charge was dating a pretty girl from the Upper Eastside. Her name was Cate. Her boyfriend’s name was Luka. Luka and Cate were both at his club in the neighborhood. OA had to leave because he recognized Cate. He didn’t want her to recognize him. OA started dating Cate’s childhood friend, Gemma. It’s been three weeks. They’re already calling it dating and Gemma actually showed up at the club. She knew he was FBI. She would have blown his cover.

OA had to leave. The others stayed. Tiffany even saw an opening with Cate. Cate was dealing drugs to her friends in the bathroom. Tiffany approached her looking to buy and arrested her once Cate sold her drugs. It’s a felony to sell to a federal agent. It doesn’t matter if its under felony weight. They quietly arrested Cate. They brought her down to their headquarters for interrogation. They told her that her charges could go away if she agrees to help bring down her boyfriend. They also showed her photos of what her boyfriend was involved in to convince her.

Cate was a privileged woman. She was never going to go to prison over Luka. She chose herself and she agreed to search through her boyfriend’s things at his club. She planted a bug in his office. She was almost caught. She was able to divert attention by mentioning she wanted to set up a friend of hers with his boy V. V was short for Viktor. He was the man that killed Eric and his partner. They have fingerprints from the crime scene. They simply needed to swipe something with Viktor’s prints on it. They had Cate go back to the club.

Cate was still under the impression that Luka could be innocent. She really likes him. She was making excuses for him because she didn’t want to him to be a bad guy. She didn’t want to hurt him. She agreed to set up Viktor with Tiffany because the FBI reassured her that they got the right guy. They got Viktor’s fingerprints. It proved to be a match only Luka found the wire that Cate put in his office. He was now onto her.

Luka tried to corner her. He questioned her story about meeting Tiffany. Tiffany tried to get her out of there. Except Cate still liked Luka. She tried to come clean. He pulled a gun and he shot Cate before trying to kill Tiffany. Tiffany received back up. OA had to call for an ambulance for Cate. And Cate later died from her wounds.

They were able to arrest Viktor who flipped on the whole mob, but OA couldn’t come clean to his new girlfriend about what happened and he tried to have a conversation about her lifestyle. He was a jerk!

THE END
