In tonight’s FBI episode, someone shot a federal court judge right outside of the courthouse. OA was in the middle of a breakup when he got the call. He had finally told his girlfriend that he was there right as her friend was murdered.

He didn’t tell her right away because he really liked her. He didn’t want to rock the boat. He waited a few days and he finally fessed up because he wanted to use that opportunity to question her about her drug use.

He wanted to know if she was like her friend. He told her he couldn’t date anyone taking coke. He was an FBI Agent and he has a duty to report. And so his girlfriend basically kicked him out because she couldn’t believe he cared so much about his career that he couldn’t even support her when she just lost a childhood friend.

OA was still bothered by the breakup when he reported to duty. He and Maggie were first on the scene. They found out the victim was Judge Charles Pollan. He was killed by a Middle Eastern man.

There was a witness to the murder. Charles was in fact walking to the courthouse with an Assistant District Attorney and the shooter followed them for a while before shooting Charles. The shooter mentioned some quote about the prophet Muhammed to the witness, Charles’s friend. OA recognized that quote as being a part of the holy scripture in Islam.

The feds couldn’t find a good photo of the shooter. He had a mask on. The shooting also happened so fast that the witness couldn’t give a great description and so if the shooter hadn’t stopped to read scripture to the witness – they wouldn’t know who they were looking for. Much less his faith.

The killer literally identified himself as Muslim. The FBI went looking into any Muslim enemies of the judge. They found a man that ran the Islamic Center. He sent the judge five threatening letters because the judge sentenced a friend of his to ten years in prison. It was reportedly for hate speech.

OA and Maggie went to question this man. He had an airtight alibi. He was at the center during the shooting. Only OA noticed that they were being watched by someone from the center.

OA followed this man and the man was revealed to be special Agent Hassan Khalil. He was FBI. He was from the Counterterrorism Unit. He was keeping eyes on the Islamic Center because it had ties to a known Saudi banker and that was code word for terrorist banker. Hassan has been undercover for months. He couldn’t get close to the guy mouthing off no matter what he did.

Hassan worked under Jessica Blake. She ran the Counterterrorism Unit. She was also an old friend of Maggie’s. She should have tipped off the FBI when they first started looking into the center, but she couldn’t do that because her daughter was sick at the time. She was dealing with that when she dropped the ball with work.

Maggie was quick to forgive her. OA not so much. OA has been dealing with his temper all throughout the day since his girlfriend broke up with him. He roughed up Hassan before learning he was a fed.

OA strong armed Hassan to getting a name of the possible shooter. Hassan thought they should be looking into Yardan Qadir. Qadir was heavily Ani-American.

He was upset about his friend going to prison. He’s been telling everyone how he couldn’t wait to go off and so he was the perfect suspect. The feds went looking for him.

OA lost his temper again with Qadir’s boss. His boss didn’t want to give up his address until he was threatened with an obstruction charge. And once they went looking for Qadir, they quickly found him.

Qadir got into a shootout with OA. He lost. OA was forced to kill him. Qadir had a gun on him. His apartment was stockpiled with weapons and none of the guns were a match for the murder weapon.

Also, the real killer was seen leaving Qadir’s apartment earlier in the same clothes he wore to kill the judge. Qadir was apparently working with a younger kid.

The kid was the killer. They got a photo of the kid from the surveillance cameras outside of Qadir’s apartment. They asked Hassan to identify him.

Hassan said he couldn’t because he didn’t know the kid well. He even added that it didn’t make sense the killer was the shooter and so the agents went back to the Islamic Center.

They learned that their shooter was Adil Kasem. He was a loner. He fell under the thrall of an older man that claimed to be his friend and yet this friend wasn’t Qadir. It was Hassan.

Hassan couldn’t get close to Qadir himself. He then brought in Adil because he figured Adil could develop a bond with Qadir. He was right. He was a little too right because he eventually lost control of Adil.

Adil got fully converted to extremism. Hassan lost control of his lackey and he didn’t want anyone knowing. OA figured it out. And he kept it from others because he understood Hassan.

It wasn’t easy being a Middle Eastern man in the FBI. They had to look out for each other. Hassan now had something to prove. He thought the best way to do that was by stopping Adil from killing someone else.

Adil made a post online that he was going to kill a second person. They needed to know who that person was and they had Hassan pretend to be Adil. He went to the Saudi banker. He proved himself by almost killing himself.

They got the banker on conspiracy to commit murder. He was arrested not long after revealing who the second victim was.

The second intended victim was James Minardi. He was a soldier in Iraq. He killed several of their men overseas and they wanted revenge for it. The former soldier has since become a politician.

He had an event in the city. There was lots of press. There were families with children. Minardi’s people were warned to cancel the event and they ignored it because they didn’t want the bad press.

Hassan later saw Adil come on the scene. He tried to get Adil to turn himself in. Adil thought he was a traitor and he shot Hassan as well as a woman that happened to be nearby.

Adil tried going on the run. OA followed him. Hassan followed him in spite of his own injuries. The two of them corned Adil in a warehouse and Adil came close to shooting OA when Hassan was forced to kill him. Hassan was later brought to a hospital to treat his shooting only Hassan’s fingerprints were found on Adil’s gun.

It was found under Adil’s fingerprints. Hassan gave Adil the gun. He converted Adil. He wanted to make a case and so he sacrificed some poor teenager without friends. And he thinks he could talk himself out of trouble.

OA wore a wire to question Hassan. He got Hassan on tape admitting he converted Adil. He found a lonely kid and he talked him into becoming a terrorist to make a case. And so Hassan got arrested at the end of that day.

OA had all in all a terrible day.

THE END!
