In tonight’s FBI episode, most of the team was concerned about Maggie. She lost a good friend. She became the new guardian of a grieving six year old girl. Maggie was going through a lot right now and the bosses offered her leave. Only she didn’t take it. She also got to work right away when a bomb went off at a fundraiser.
Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille had been a block away when someone bombed that place. She didn’t see it. She just felt it. She had waved her neighbor and his son through the blockade because no one wanted to go around the building where the fundraiser was being held. And unfortunately her neighbor’s son stopped by the restaurant to see what was inside.
He was caught up in the blast. He survived only he was badly injured. Isobel offered him first aide. She also searched the area for any other survivors and there were a mere handful of people that survived. The bomb killed eleven in total. This included Congresswoman Carol Jones.
It was her fundraiser. Jones was extremely right wing. She’s made a lot of enemies. There were protestors outside yelling obscenities during the whole event. Jones had also turned off the cameras in the restaurant where the fundraiser was being held.
She didn’t even want anyone filming on cell phones either. She wanted a quiet event and someone intentionally set out to harm her. Isobel had witnessed a man fleeing the area minutes before the bomb went off. The survivors were asked about this man.
They said he was a health inspector. He came to check the restaurant and he gave them a good review. It turns out the guy merely borrowed the health inspector’s jacket. The jacket belonged to his roommate and he stole that along with his roommate’s car.
Their bomber was Gary Smalls. By time they caught up to him, someone had already murdered him. They shot him while he was recording on social media and so Gary was talking about the revolution. He said that was the first day to kick off the revolution.
He was meeting with the shot caller when he gets killed. His phone gets turned off. The FBI found his body. They then went looking for his killer to see what else was planned. Smalls alluded to other events being underway. The FBI couldn’t let another bomb go off in the city.
They first tracked down where Smalls was getting the C4. He or his partner had approached a man by the name of Drew Borelli who works for Davis Construction. The guy was about to be evicted. He was eight months behind on his child support payments.
There also was no gambling site willing to extend him credit. He was an addict that burned too many bridges. He robbed from his place of work. He handed over a bunch of C4 he swore he thought was innocent. He claims not to know they were going to hurt people with a couple of bomb making material.
Borelli talked to save his own skin. He met Smalls on a forum. They checked it and they found out that Smalls was talking to someone named “theRighteousOne”.
The person behind the handler was working from a coffee shop. The FBI spotted her. They then tried to follow her and she went into the Russian Consulate. Where the Americans don’t hold jurisdiction. The woman behind the handle was identified as Marina Kostova. She was officially an economic attaché. She was in reality a Russian spy that helped carry out a false flag operation on American soil.
Marina was involved in the murder of a Russian dissident in London. She used the same MO as she did for Smalls. She was in New York to intentionally cause enough strife between political parties. She was the one that convinced Smalls to plant the bomb. She was the one that sought out Borelli.
She put everything in motion and the American government still didn’t want to touch her or question her. They were in negotiations with the Russian government about an asset they wanted. The government officially told Isobel not to put the negotiations at risk.
Isobel ignored them because her neighbor’s son died. He was twelve years old. His only crime was walking down the street and so Isobel wanted revenge. She also didn’t want anyone else to be harmed. She signed off on investigating the spy. They broke into the woman’s home. They accessed her computer.
They found out she was in communication with someone else about a second bomb. They went to the storage locker where she told this second person to pick up the bomb. The FBI were too late to stop the transfer. They did get a fingerprint though.
They identified the man that picked up the bomb as John Parker. Parker posted recently about being on a bus. They tracked down the bus and Parker must have spotted him because he fled the bus. They followed him into a warehouse. He tried to shoot at them.
They cornered him. They were able to arrest him and they learned he doesn’t have the bomb anymore. He’s already planted it somewhere. Parker was shown a video of what happened to Smalls. The FBI told him that could be his fate if they don’t stop the bomb.
Parker only planted it. He confessed he doesn’t have the detonator. That part was left to someone else. Parker told them where he dropped the bomb and they figured out it was against a right wing Super PAC.
Elections were coming up. The Russian government wanted to sway the course of that by making it appear as if the left was killing the right. Only the event was full. There were too many people. Maggie had to get close to the bomb to find the signal where the detonator was being held. And she did that.
They found the detonator. They stopped the Russian from setting it off. They also arrested the Russian spy. They made their case, but the negotiations are now firmly off the table. And the asset was killed ten minutes after Marina Kostova was arrested.
And Maggie has to deal with an anxious little girl that frequently video calls her to make sure she’s still alive.
THE END!
