In tonight’s FBI episode, Scola and Nina were discussing plans for her sister’s wedding. The wedding was in California. Nina thought they should book their tickets right away and Scola then mentioned getting separate flights. Scola’s brother died on 9/11. He was very security conscious. He thought it would be safer to take different flights.
This would guarantee that at least one of them survives if anything happens. Which was very pessimistic of him. Nina thought the same. She thought he was being too over the top about their security. She wanted to travel with him and the baby. She was making a case for one flight when he got called into work.
Scola as well as the rest of his team were brought in on a murder. The murder victim was Former FBI Special Agent Mike Rosen. He used to work Organized Crime and Counterterrorism.
He left the bureau some years ago. He joined a security firm called Provident Armor. He was working at a desk when a group of men abducted him. They tortured him for information on his new job. They used that to access the armored truck’s database. They found out all the pricey pickups. And then they killed Mike.
No one knew who Mike was at first because he was shot in the head. It only became a federal crime because Mike’s body was dumped on federal land. This was when Scola got the call. They were alerted by local police. They ran Mike’s fingerprints after they got the case and that’s when they learned he was once one of them.
There were even some people within their department that once worked with Mike. The FBI were initially concerned that he might have too many enemies that wanted him dead. It wasn’t until they learned about his current job that everything came together.
They went to his office. They talked to his boss. The guy mentioned that Mike logged in last night. He thought Mike was getting ready for the next workday and it was actually something else. The FBI went looking through their database. They saw that Mike’s profile checked pick ups for the armored truck.
The FBI searched one of the sights and that’s when they ran into their killers. It was a group of three. They killed a security guard with Provident Armor. They went on the run with over ten million dollars worth of diamonds.
OA was able to kill one of them. Only two got away. The man he killed was identified as man named Chavez. Chavez was an ex-con. He was known to hang out at a certain bar.
The FBI went to the bar. They ran into Chavez’s cousin Beto. He matches the description of one of the other jewel thieves. They followed Beto. They saw him meet up with Samuel Jacobson. They let Beto walk while they arrested Jacobson. Jacobson has a record for selling stolen goods. Beto didn’t have a record nor could they get his full name using facial recognition.
They weren’t even sure that Beto was Chavez’s real cousin. They have nothing on him. They chose to keep eyes on him and they arrested Jacobson because he was in violation of his parole.
Nina had heard they arrested Jacobson. She asked Scola to let him go because the guy was her criminal informant. He’s been feeding her information for the past eight months. Scola would have liked to help only they couldn’t release Jacobson. He was connected to the jewelry heist. He might also be involved in Mike’s murder.
Jacobson wasn’t being helpful with the feds. Nina was sent in to talk to him. She knew that doing the right thing would fly over his head and so she instead told him about the reward money.
The jewelers offered a reward money of five hundred grand. Jacobson liked the idea of getting money with no risk of returning to prison. He agreed to set one of them up with Beto. They were going to look like buyers willing to take on the stolen property. Jacobson set up the meeting. Scola later met Beto at the bar.
They haggled over the price. Beto was smart enough not to confess to the murders. Or the theft. He just said he has the diamonds and he was only going to sell it to Scola if he could see his place. Scola needed to think of an address. Nina gave him an address though his earpiece.
She also agreed to play his wife during the buy. Maggie and Tiffany were supposed to follow Beto after that to see if he would lead them to the third man. They unfortunately lost him because of a bicyclist riding on the sidewalk and that meant this deal has to take place now.
The FBI tried to come up with the money. They were short by seven hundred grand. They put the real money on top and padded the bottom with plain paper.
Their plan was almost ruined by Beto coming up with his own plan. He wanted to separate Nina and Scola. He stayed with Scola in the townhouse. Nina was supposed to meet his brother outside. Everyone thought they were trying to rip them off. They weren’t. They were just being cautious. Nina saw the rest of the diamonds and both men were arrested.
They were going down for their crimes. Jacobson gets the reward money. He also gets to continue as an informant and Nina talked to Scola about taking risks. She doesn’t want to live a half life just because he was too scared of possible scenarios. They couldn’t plan for everything. They had to accept life as it is.
THE END!
