In tonight’s FBI episode, a bombing went off in Queens. It happened at a convenience store. It was the neighborhood corner store and it had lots of foot traffic. It was a miracle that only six people got hurt. The Mayor was notified about the accident. Or at least that’s what they thought it was at first.

The Mayor still asked the FBI to run point on the case. Maggie and OA got called in. They didn’t know why they were being alerted about a gas leak. It wasn’t until they found the store owner’s records that they realized he was running an illegal gambling ring out of the store and that a lot of people owe him money. Money they no longer have to pay him since he’s now dead. And at the top of the list of gamblers was Hugo Soto.

Hugo’s brother Javi was one of the injured. Hugo was his brother’s guardian. Their parents died and it was just them. Hugo sent his brother into the store that morning to buy breakfast.

He wouldn’t have done that if he knew it was going to blow. The FBI know he wasn’t their bomber. They were after him because he spent three grand at the convenience store and it directly tied him into the illegal gambling there. The feds wanted to ask about that and they tracked down Hugo at his brother’s hospital. The young man was waiting because Javi was taken into surgery.

Hugo was so broken up about his brother that he didn’t even bother playing pretend. He admitted he was gambling. He said that’s how he was able to support him and his brother. He also said that lately the convenience store was being accused of throwing the games. Hugo offered up a name of a disgruntled gambler.

The feds looked into the guy and they learned he owned over two hundred thousand dollars. The same man also shot at the feds when they came to talk to him. This was the first case Scola was working with his new partner and the new guy had a lot of rough edges.

He left SWAT. He was still getting used to the FBI. Scola was trying to show him the ropes. It’s just the other guy didn’t really want to listen. Anyways, they arrested their indebted gambler.

The guy denied taking part in the bombing. He instead said it was a turf war. Jackson Heights used to be run by the Low Street Hustlers. The Latin Kings have lately been pushing the LSH out of the neighborhood. The FBI has a gang taskforce. They brought in an expert when another gang hotspot got it.

It appeared as if the TLKs were going up against LSHs. Maggie met up with a criminal informant at a safe zone. He was telling her about how the gangs weren’t really at war with each other. Both sides had been warned by the bosses to not retaliate because they didn’t want to bring the cops down on them.

Maggie wasn’t sure she believed the guy or not and so it helped that she herself witnessed the bomber dropping off the bomb at the safe zone. Maggie and OA had to clear the building. It later blew up. The upside was that they got a great image of the bomber on camera.

Maggie even saw his face for herself. They have plenty of evidence and now they have a name to match the face. The bomber’s name is Alfred Landry. He was a former army demolitionist. He also lived in Long Island and had no connection to either gang he was targeting. Landry was a hired hitman.

He’s been using this new app to take on jobs. He was hired anonymously. He’s never met whoever wanted to kill off the gangs. He was basically useless when the feds caught up to him. Which OA didn’t mind because he knew someone behind the mysterious app.

OA’s friend Clay Voss was running with Pyramid Security. It was a private security firm. They were basically lawless because they prepared to do anything for a contract.

Clay was dangerous. He also saved OA’s life when they were both in the army. OA returned the favor, but the two of them were still close and OA knew Clay could help him find whoever hired Landry. Clay connected Landry to Fernando Perez. Perez was one of the biggest real estate moguls in the city. He came up through the ranks when the mob were in charge of construction back then. He was now a billionaire.

Perez has been buying up Jackson Heights. There’s been three holdouts stopping him from taking over the neighborhood. Those three were all the gang affiliated spots that got hit. The feds technically had enough evidence to arrest Perez thanks to Clay only OA didn’t want to name names.

He didn’t want his friend getting in trouble for helping. Maggie suggested he sign Clay as a CI. They were talking about it when their bosses decided to shake the tree. They went to Perez’s office. They informed him about the danger in that neighborhood and then they used Landry’s app account to notify the man who hired him that he needed extra cash.

They extorted the shot caller. He showed up for a money drop. He wasn’t Perez. He was Perez’s son, Junior. Junior wanted out of his father’s shadow. He was prepared to start a turf war if it meant he got his father’s recognition. The feds couldn’t see that at first. They thought Perez ordered his son to do this.

They spoke with Perez. He said his son was too stupid to mastermind this and that’s why Junior couldn’t have done it. Jubal showed that interview to Junior. And that’s when Junior admitted he masterminded the whole thing.

Perez didn’t give him orders. Junior took the initiative to clear out that neighborhood and he made a full confession in spite of his lawyer begging him to shut up. Perez later saw the confession. He instantly disowned his son. He also called journalists just so that he could condemn his son at a news conference right in front of the federal building.

Hugo Soto went to that conference. He showed up and he killed Perez. His brother had died in surgery. He blamed the whole Perz family for him losing his only family and he didn’t die in a shootout. Maggie kept him alive long enough to face trial.

But OA signed Clay up as his criminal informant and they were going to use that app to solve cases.

THE END!
