In tonight’s FBI episode, a masked assailant came close to abducting a young woman. The woman happened to be a sister to an FBI Agent and she was also a daughter to a cop. She used her father’s badge to scare off her abductor. He drugged her.

He was telling her how she’d be his first, but that badge changed everything. He ran off without harming the woman once he saw that badge. He didn’t want his victim to bring unnecessary attention on him and so he left. Melanie survived the ordeal. She wanted to put it all behind her. She told her sister about it and she regretted it the second she said anything. Her sister wouldn’t let it go.

FBI Special Agent Sydney Ortiz was a profiler. She knew this man attacked her sister wasn’t going to stop after he failed to grab Mel. He was going to keep finding victims and Syd brought this case to the authorities. The local cops refused to do anything.

There was no signs that anyone broke into Mel’s home. Mel was also on medication for mental health. She was considered unbelievable. The thing with the local cops convinced Mel that she should have just dropped it. And so it was her sister that brought the case to the FBI.

What happened to Mel was technically an assault on a federal agent’s family. It could be connected to Syd’s case files or what not. The women’s father was also a friend for FBI SAC Isobel Castille. He helped her close the biggest case in her career.

She owes him and, now that he’s passed, she was willing to make up for it with his daughters. She had her people search Mel’s home. They didn’t find much. Then again they didn’t really want to investigate. OA and Scola didn’t think a crime happened. They knew the only reason they were investigating was because of the family’s connections.

Maggie was one the person that believed Mel. They later talked to Mel. They asked her about anyone she sees frequently and she mentioned this one guy. The guy was interested in her, but he wasn’t her stalker. He also wasn’t the one that left floral arrangements for her.

The flowers were from her stalker. The FBI followed that led to a floral shop. The order was placed online and with a gift card. Syd forced her way into the investigation. She was a profiler. She profiled their perp. She checked to see if that card had made any other orders and she found out he sent the same flowers to Jennifer Murray.

Jennifer was a college student. She didn’t show up at school that day. She wasn’t answering her phone. The FBI checked nearby cameras and they saw that the stalker had already grabbed Jennifer. She was missing. Syd stayed on the case to profile the man they were looking for.

Only she doesn’t play well with others. She has no field experience. She doesn’t want to work well with others. Its why she stayed in the basement and so she had to learn how to interact with the team. She also had to learn how to talk to victims.

Jennifer was returned to her house. She had been drugged with the same date rape drug used on Mel. The perp creates his own cocktail that allows them to stay awake during the attack while also making it impossible for them to fight back. He also told Jennifer she was his first.

Syd realized that he said that because he thinks it’s a compliment for them. Jennifer wasn’t his first. Neither was Mel. The perp has a gentleman fantasy. He believes he’s wooing these women. He then abducts them to consummate their “relationship”. And he returns them to their home when he’s done with them.

Syd couldn’t get answers from Jennifer. Maggie had to talk to her. She was better at it and Jennifer told her she had been sexually assaulted. Her story lines up with Mel’s. It made Syd feel bad because the first time she heard her sister’s story – she hadn’t believed her.

She doubted her because her sister had always heard voices. She now knows for sure that her sister was telling the truth. She wants to catch the guy and so they ran the details that Jennifer gave them through the database. To see if there were other victims out there.

The MO matched the abduction/rape of seventeen women in NYC. The women reported what happened to the local police. The local police didn’t believe them nor did they even bother to see if there were others cases with the same MO. NYPD failed these women.

The FBI had to get justice for them. The women all lived alone. They had security systems that failed to work on the night of their abduction and the security cameras were all owned by the same company called Sentinel Alarms. The company also recently fired a man for failing to disclose he was a registered sex offender.

The guy’s name was Justin Halverson. He was eighteen when he slept with his girlfriend that was sixteen. Her parents pressed charges and he went on the registry. He said he never withheld his background. He was hired by Tom McGrath.

McGrath knew he was on the registry and hired him anyways because he wanted a partner. McGrath loves to turn the security system of beautiful women off so that he could surveil them. He likes to watch. He met a man online. They both couldn’t get a date and so they teamed up to rape seventeen women.

The most McGrath was willing to say was that his friend was called Roy. He didn’t know what he looked like. He didn’t have a last name. Roy just made sure that he raped those women on camera and McGrath was fine enough with watching.

When Justin tried to report McGrath for surveilling women, McGrath fired him. He claimed that Justin withheld information on his application. He didn’t know that Justin kept evidence that he hoped to use in wrongful termination lawsuit. The feds got their hands on that. And they went after McGrath.

The man ran when he saw them. He was tempted to commit suicide. He was out on the ledge of the roof and OA talked him down. They tried to get information from McGrath only he didn’t know much. Nor did he care about getting a plea deal to take down his friend.

McGrath was useless. Syd was taken off the case for being too zealous. She didn’t want to offer McGrath a deal. She went back to the basement and she kept investigating. She found Roy on her own. He was the super at an apartment building. Its why he was able to hide the women during the attack.

Apparently, Roy lost someone he saw a future with when he didn’t escort her home. Its why he felt he had to be a gentleman with the women he assaulted.

He had candles. He had a shower. He even drove them home after the attack because he didn’t want them to get hurt. He was delusional. He took Syd hostage when she found him. She convinced him to do the right thing and so he killed himself. Syd survived her first case in the field. And it won’t be her last.

Isobel was keeping Syd around and next time Syd has to play well with others.

THE END!
