On tonight’s Fire Country episode, Bode was back in prison. He had confessed to drug dealing last season to save Freddy. Someone from the Mayor’s office said that if he agreed to admit guilt that Freddy would be released from prison and that he would be returned to one.

Bode agreed to that deal because Freddy was his best friend. Freddy was spending years in prison for something he didn’t do. He would have been stuck there for another two years if Bode hadn’t taken that deal. Bode couldn’t live with himself if he let an innocent man stayed locked up. He took the deal. He went back to prison. Freddy was released and he’s now with his family.

Bode meanwhile was back at square one. He was actually worse off than he was before. He was known as a snitch in prison and that never ends well. He frequently got into fights with other inmates. Bode even went looking for some of these fights.

He was trying to be moved to a troublesome block. He wanted to work his way up to getting to Sleeper. He blamed Sleeper for what happened to him and he wanted to get justice. Or he claims he wanted justice. He really wanted revenge. His dad could see it and so he brought out the big guns.

Vince called in Manny. The two of them visited Bode in prison together. Bode got really angry with his dad for bringing along Manny. Their deal was that he was the only one that Bode would see. Bode didn’t want to see anyone else.

He didn’t want to talk to anyone else. He’s refused visits from everyone else. Vince worked around the rule because he thought Manny could talk sense into Bode. Bode once respected Manny. He had needed his leadership. This was sadly no longer the case because Bode doesn’t believe he’s ever leaving prison once he kills Sleeper.

Bode’s mother had given up on him. Sharon had taken a six month job with CalFire that had her traveling. She refused to come home and Vince wasn’t sure if she ever would come back. They’ve buried a child already. They didn’t want to bury their last child.

Sharon was distancing herself to protect herself from the inevitable disappointment. Her husband didn’t judge her for that. Vince was doing his best to keep everything together in the meantime. He had Manny. He had Eve. He had Jake.

Only Jake was keeping a secret. Jake recently learned that Bode might be a father. He and Bode was childhood best friends. He therefore knew Bode’s high school sweetheart really well. The two of them reconnected when she moved back to town.

She came with her preteen daughter. The same daughter that didn’t know who her biological parents were before the move and was now rebelling against her mother because her mother was an easy target. The preteen’s name is Genieve. She hasn’t asked about her biological father just yet. And that’s good thing because Bode might not be the father.

There’s no certainty that Bode was the father. They would need a DNA test. They would probably also need Bode out of prison for that and so Bode walking up to a murder charge was actually working against him from being any kind of father he might be.

Not that he’ll ever get that chance. Bode got stabbed in prison. Sleeper ordered it. Sleeper has a lot of pull in there. He provides most of the drugs to the people on the block and so Bode moving there might be the literal death of him. Sleeper knew what Bode was doing when he got moved there. He’s not stupid.

Sleeper planned on killing Bode. Bode planned on killing Sleeper. Bode refused to report his stabbing. He sewed it up himself. He didn’t want to be known as even more of a snitch and so the earthquake sorta reminded everyone of their priorities.

Sharon came back. She showed up with her brother-in-law regardless of him once hitting on her. It was all very odd and Vince was confused. Vince tried bringing up their son to Sharon. She refused to discuss Bode. Or visit Bode. She wanted to keep distancing herself from him.

Luckily, she no longer needed a kidney from him. She got one from her brother-in-law. He also took her job. Sharon wasn’t even angry about that and so she told Luke to keep the job. Sharon didn’t want the stress. She didn’t want to deal with Sacramento anymore.

She wanted to take things easy. It was Luke who told her how much Vince had missed her while she was gone. He advocated for his brother. Sharon listened to him and she quickly made up with her husband. She was still unclear about Bode. And time was not on her side.

Bode was running out of time. He called Manny on his cellmate’s illegal burner. He asked Manny to look after his parents when he’s gone and Jake took the phone from Manny. Jake told Bode that he’s a dad. He told him about Genieve. He told them that she was really Cara’s daughter.

Not her sister. Cara’s parents lied because they thought they were protecting their teenage daughter and sadly they’re no longer around. Genieve was all Cara had. Cara was all Genieve had. Yet, that didn’t mean she didn’t need a father.

Bode didn’t think he’d make a good dad. He told Jake goodbye. He waited until the guards opened his cell and then he finally saw the pull that Sleeper had in prison. The guards worked for Sleeper. The prisoners worked for Sleeper.

Sleeper even had the Warden move Bode to his block so that he could kill him for snitching on him. They met each other with knives out. Then a second earthquake hit. The second was far deadlier than the first. The ceiling fell on Sleeper. Bode had the chance to kill him and he instead saved him.

Bode saved Sleeper after they made an agreement. Sleeper will clear Bode’s name. As long as Bode never came back to prison, he was free and clear from Sleeper. Bode was able to return to Fire Camp. He was back on the path to being paroled out.

Bode was out of prison. His mind was on one day meeting his daughter and he didn’t think about Gabriella until he learned she was engaged. She started dating another firefighter. And he proposed to her after just four months together.

Talk about life coming at you fast!

THE END!
