In tonight’s Fire Country episode, CalFire got to keep two amazing firefighters. Manny was serving his twelve months at Three Rock. Bode was a cadet at the academy and he was undergoing training. His grandfather came back to town just to teach him the Leone firefighting tradition.

Everything seemed to be going well until Jake found the medical alert bracelet. It was Gil’s necklace. Gil was given the wrong medication by Gabriella. She almost killed him and then she saved his life. Bode knew what she did. He covered for her. He just wasn’t smart enough to destroy the necklace or at least throw it in a lake. He kept it. Jake then found it.

Jake showed the necklace to Eve. She also thought it was weird. It didn’t make sense that they saw the necklace and still gave Gill the wrong medication. Eve knew something sketchy happened.

Only she already had her hands full. She was preparing for Manny’s first day at Three Rock. Manny used to run the place. He was back to being a prisoner there and it was hard on Eve because they were friends. They’ve had issues before. They were always able to work through them. And now that might be out the window because Eve was put in charge of him.

Manny was a hero at Three Rock. The other prisoners thought he was a hero for saving the program. They welcomed him with open arms and it was much better treatment than they’ve ever given Eve. Eve was focusing on that when Jake got answers. Jake confronted Gabriella and Bode.

They confessed to what happened. Bode covered for Gabriella. He said he’d do it for Jake as well and so Jake corrected him. He reminded Bode that he wasn’t on his own in prison anymore. He was a cadet at the academy. He has to build trust.

Bode has three strikes until he’s out for good. He couldn’t make another mistake. He has to follow protocol now that he’s a part of CalFire.

Gabriella at least realized how big her mistake was. Bode was still following prison rules. Jake later paired Bode with Audrey James during an exercise training. The two were struggling to work together. Bode almost got written up. He and Audrey needed to figure things out together and it was hard because this means a lot to both of them. Audrey has washed out of the academy twice now.

Bode couldn’t wash out or he’ll disappoint his whole family. His grandfather known affectionally as “Nono” was in town to celebrate Bode at the academy and he liked getting drunk at Sharon’s new bar.

Walter Leone was a fun guy. His love for alcohol might be excessive. Addiction can run through families, but Nono did teach Bode a trick to use at the academy.

He saved Bode on the exercise. Bode bonded with Audrey. Things were fine until Jake realized that they knew where the dummies were. He questioned Audrey and Bode. Bode confessed to what happened. He took full responsibility.

Jake was so disappointed in him that he came up with a new rule. He came up with a three strike for one event rule and Bode was kicked out of the academy. Audrey gets to stay.

It was just Bode that was kicked out. Jake had warned him earlier that day that he has to build trust. If they couldn’t trust him, they couldn’t work with him.

Bode failed to maintain trust and that’s why he was kicked out. Bode was lucky he didn’t go home to a very drunk Nono that night. Nono was a mean drunk. He’d always been that and Bode never noticed because his dad protected him.

Vince and his brother grew up with Walter. They knew to never talk at the dinner table. They knew to never bother their father after a certain time or else he’d get the belt.

They never loved their dad. When Walter threw the fact that Bode was a mere cadet and not a captain by now at Vince, Vince defended his son by saying at least Bode respects him. Bode loves his him.

Vince doesn’t like or respect Walter. Vince was a good person in spite of Walter. Luke was a bit of a monster and so Walter’s methods weren’t that great. Vince left his dad at home to get away from him. He came back to find his kitchen on fire.

Walter tried to cook Bode’s cadet steak. He was drinking. He left it on the stove to go watch tv. He came back to a kitchen fire and he had no clue how to work at-home extinguisher.

Vince had to put out the fire. Walter slept off his drunkenness. He left in the morning. Bode missed it. He and Gabriella agreed to talk to Gil. Audrey told Jake that it was her idea to cheat during the exercise. Jake was willing to take a strike away from Bode depending on what happened with Gil. Gil was told the full story. And he chose to forgive.

It saved both Bode and Gabriella’s jobs. Only Gabriella realized Bode likes tasking risks. It’s his high. He was still an addict and Gabriella wasn’t sure if she could be enough for him.

She wasn’t for her dad. Manny hasn’t called her since he joined Three Rock. He didn’t want her to visit. Gabriella runs toward men with problems and she realized she needed a heal a part of herself that was also addicted to this behavior.

Manny later realized his mistake. He reached out to his daughter and Gabriella will always be there for him, but she needed time before she jumps back into Bode’s arms.

Bode said he’d wait for her and only time will tell if that’s true.

THE END!
