According to TV Insider, CBS has ordered Sherrif Country, a spinoff from the current (and popular) drama, Fire Country . The new series comes shortly after the proposed backdoor pilot hit the airwaves, as part of Fire Country, Season 2, when Sheriff Mickey Fox, played by Morena Baccarin was introduced.
How Sheriff Country Has Come To Be
During Fire Country Season 2, Episode 6, titled “Alert the Sheriff”, Mickey came in to help when an inmate at Three Rock escaped. In addition, the episode revealed that Fox is Sharon Leone’s (Diane Farr) stepsister; a good way to connect both shows.
Baccarin is set to star in Sheriff County, which follows Mickey, a straight shooter “who investigates criminal activity” while patrolling the streets of a small town, Edgewater.
The synopsis of the show also highlights the fact that Mickey will contend with her ex-con dad, as well as a mysterious incident that involves her willful daughter, and it sounds like the show it will expand the Fire Country world and town of Edgewater, overall.
When Sherrif Country Is Set To Debut
As per reports, Sheriff Country will premiere at some point during CBS’s 2025-2026. The show’s pilot will be written by Joan Rater and Tony Phelan, with the story by Rater, Phelan, as well as Max Thierot, and CBS Studios will produce it.
While fans wait for this spinoff, which will be here before you know it, they can still sit back and enjoy Fire Country, which is wrapping up its second season.
There’s been a ton of drama with this year, from Cara’s death to Bode’s prison sentence, Three Rock almost closing down and so much more. The Season 2 finale is set for Friday, May 17, 9 p.m. (ET).
