General Hospital (GH) news has tragic news to pass on, alum Johnny Wactor who played Brando Corbin on the ABC soap has died after being shot during a robbery gone bad.
According to TMZ, the actor’s mother Scarlett confirmed that her son was shot and killed in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning, May 24.
She said that Johnny was with a colleague when they saw three men tampering with his car.
The outlet reports that although authorities haven’t released the actor’s name as the deceased in this incident, the description of the death scene matches up with an incident report that describes three suspects allegedly trying to steal a catalytic converter.

Scarlett said that Johnny was not combative with the men and did not attempt to confront, fight, or interfere with the suspects.
Sadly, Johnny was fatally shot before they fled the scene. A police report indicates that paramedics rushed Johnny to the hospital just after 3 AM PT, and he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police have not yet provided a description of the suspects but Johnny’s mother is hopeful that they will be caught soon and brought to justice .

Johnny starred in nearly 200 episodes of the Emmy Award winning soap opera. He played the role of Brando Corbin, a relative of mob boss Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Brando was married to Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) and died after becoming a victim of The Hook. Wactor exited the soap in 2022.
Like Brando, Johnny was a military veteran and he starred on the show from 2020 until his character was killed off in 2022.
Johnny’s other credits include “Westworld,” “The OA,” “NCIS,” “Station 19,” “Criminal Minds,” and “Hollywood Girl.”

Wactor’s mother memorialized her son as a loving young man whose passing has left an enormous hole in his family’s heart. Johnny is survived by his mother, and his younger brothers Lance and Grant. He was 37.
