General Hospital Friday, December 20 Recap: Ava & Ric’s Kiss Interrupted, Carly Invites Brennan to Party, Marshall Returns

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, December 20, reveals that Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) ran into Laura Collins (Genie Francis) at Rice Plaza, so they wound up discussing Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and how he’d want Trina to move on with her life.

Trina also bumped into Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup), who was there with some teammates to help with the toy donation drive.

Kai and Trina had a cute, awkward interaction as they made plans for their upcoming presentation.

Next on Friday’s GH episode, Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) returned home for the holidays and got a warm greeting from his family.

Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) had a big announcement to make, but he wanted to wait for Trina before he revealed it.

Trina eventually joined Marshall, Curtis, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) back at the house, where Curtis revealed that he locked in a five-year contract as Aurora’s CEO.

Curtis explained that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) took the company from Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison), so there were a lot of questions and concerns about how it all went down.

However, the family ultimately gathered around the table to count their blessings and enjoy Christmas dinner.

At Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) place, she was unsuccessful at convincing Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) to stick around for a holiday celebration.

Kristina gave Alexis a gift and opted to spend Christmas with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) instead.

Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) arrived later to give Alexis one last chance to join her St. Barts trip, but Alexis passed on that opportunity.

After Diane gave Alexis a nudge to put her grievances aside with Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) aside for Molly Lansing-Davis’ (Kristen Vaganos) sake this holiday season, Alexis decided to call her ex.

At Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) place, she bickered with Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) about having the nerve to accept Willow Corinthos’ (Katelyn MacMullen) invitation to her gathering.

Nina was talking about her hookups with Drew when Willow appeared, so she clammed up and acted like she was just wishing Drew a merry Christmas.

After Nina decided she could use some backup, she called Ava Jerome (Maura West) and derailed her dinner reservation with Ric.

Ava brought Ric over and warned Nina not to get tipsy – that way, she wouldn’t risk unloading her true feelings on Drew.

Nina struggled to hold her tongue throughout the get-together, but Ava was there to keep her on track and steer her away from any contentious moments.

At one point, Ric brought up the Aurora takeover, so Drew admitted Michael and Curtis’ scheme to steal it from him.

Nina looked pleased over Curtis’ win, but Ava stopped her from gloating.

Since Willow clearly felt sorry for Drew, she reeled over Michael’s actions and was beginning to think she didn’t know him at all anymore.

Speaking of Michael, he found Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) in the Quartermaine kitchen.

Sasha sniffed some tea and got queasy because of her pregnancy, but she played it off like she was nervous about the family holiday gathering she was headed to.

Michael also talked about his separation from Willow and seemed glum over the change in Christmas plans – though he was at least having breakfast with the kids in the morning.

Since James West (Gary James Fuller) and Mac Scorpio (John J. York) were bummed over Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) not attending the Scorpio holiday gathering, Sasha tricked Cody into thinking she had a plumbing emergency.

That gave Sasha a chance to make a pitch for Cody to come spend Christmas with his new family, but he was reluctant because of the awkwardness around her.

Sasha showed up at Maxie’s place and delivered bad news since Cody still wasn’t coming as far as she knew.

Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) bumped into Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) in Rice Plaza and shut down his idea of spending the holiday together since she was already spending it with family.

Once Anna made it to Maxie’s house, she kept hinting about a surprise that was coming. Although everyone thought Anna’s surprise had arrived, it turned out to be Cody at the door.

Back with Ric, he was just about to share a kiss with Ava, but Alexis’ phone call interrupted.

Ric wondered if Molly was OK, so Alexis suggested that was up to him and got him to come over.

At Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) house, she gave Sonny updates on Michael’s separation and revealed that Willow slept with Drew.

Sonny vowed that Drew would pay for his actions.

Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) also shared a moment alone with Sonny and acknowledged that Dex helped her see that everything wasn’t so black and white.

With that in mind, Josslyn hugged Sonny as they made peace.

Sonny spoke to Michael later and offered support following the news of Drew’s hookup with Willow.

When Sonny found out Michael stole Aurora from Drew, he smiled and voiced his approval.

Outside Bobbie’s, Carly ran into Brennan and realized he was alone for Christmas, so she invited him back to her place to join the party.

Once Brennan extended his hand to Sonny for an introduction, the mob boss just stood there with a harsh stare.

General Hospital spoilers say Sonny will remain displeased over Carly’s additional guest, so we’ll pass along more predictions on any drama that’s brewing.
