General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, July 26, reveals that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) surprised Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) with a meeting in her office and admitted he needed her help now that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) had been arrested.
Michael knew Nina had a personal connection to Congressman Larry McConkey (Sam McMurray), who was on the House Oversight Committee and could influence an investigation into rogue Agent John Cates (Adam J. Harrington).
Nina questioned if Michael was ready to be labeled as her co-conspirator and worried this could look bad for Drew Quartermaine’s (Cameron Mathison) campaign if it got out.
Michael downplayed the risks and sweetened the deal by suggesting he’d play up Nina’s Carly rescue to Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen).
Nina wanted a real truce with Michael too if she was going to do this, so he said helping with McConkey would be a good first step.
In the end, Nina got McConkey on the phone and arranged to have a meal together.
Nina also mentioned that she’d be bringing along someone interesting that McConkey would love, so Michael was pleased.
At Kristina Corinthos-Davis’ (Kate Mansi) place, she was surprised when Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) showed up to complain about the Perez Hilton interview and how Kristina basically acted like it was her baby.
Molly mentioned TJ Ashford’s (Tajh Bellow) concerns as well and wanted Molly to sign some papers to terminate her parental rights.
Kristina balked, but Molly pointed out they were always going to have to take this step anyway if she was going to adopt this child.
Kristia hinted that things had changed since she now had questions about whether Molly and TJ would stay together.
Molly said fighting and making up was just part of having a normal relationship, which Kristina had never had according to her sister.
After Molly trashed all Kristina’s romances – including her current infatuation with Blaze aka Allison “Allie” Rogers (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) – she warned that Kristina wasn’t prepared to be a mother.
When Kristina stood her ground on not signing the papers, Molly accused her of wanting this baby for herself. Kristina acted like maybe she could provide a more stable home for this child right now along with Blaze.
Once Natalia Ramirez (Eva LaRue) showed up, Molly took off. That gave Natalia a chance to thank Kristina for the kindness she showed during the interview, which Natalia knew she didn’t deserve.
Kristina acknowledged that Natalia was entitled to her opinions even if she didn’t like them – and Natalia respected Kristina’s principles along with her “live and let live” attitude.
In Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) office, she gave Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) updates on Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) vanishing from Pentonville without a trace.
Anna suspected that the WSB made the prison paper trail disappear, but she wanted Dante to look into Brennan’s records from his stint at GH.
Since John implied that Brennan might have leverage, Anna wanted to get to the bottom of what Brennan meant to the FBI.
In the PCPD interrogation room, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) quizzed Carly about the reason for her arrest.
Carly explained the story about the RICO violations and how John had used the recording to make Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) work undercover for him.
Although Jason was supposed to be free after completing his assignment, Carly said Cates double-crossed Jason and ordered him to take another one out of town.
After Carly admitted Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) said her odds wouldn’t be good in court, Sonny angrily warned that Cates wouldn’t send the mother of his little girl to prison.
Sonny flung some stuff off the nearby tabletop and caught Carly off guard with his outburst before leaving.
Once Carly summoned Dante, she alarmed him with the news that Sonny had lost it and was going after John.
In Sonny’s office, he got on the phone with Brick (Stephen A. Smith) and told him to find out John’s location.
After Sonny got his gun out and loaded it, he looked determined as he practiced aiming it.
Meanwhile, Jason wanted to claim Carly was just a figurehead and that he was actually running the mob show back when the recording was made.
Diane insisted that strategy wouldn’t work, so she just needed a supportive Jason to show up in court and keep Carly calm.
Jason suggested maybe they could undercut Carly’s case by tarnishing Cates, so he hinted that someone who owed him was in the position to get information – presumably Anna.
After Diane left Jason’s place, John showed up to warn that Carly dug her own grave and said Jason would bury her with his forced court testimony.
However, John suggested Jason could still free Carly if he delivered Sonny to him instead.
General Hospital spoilers say Jason will once again have to deal with John’s ultimatum, so we’ll bring you more predictions on how he’ll handle all this.
