General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Johnny Wactor’s (ex-Brando Corbin) co-stars are speaking out in the aftermath of some crushing news. Wactor was shot and killed during an attempted catalytic converter robbery, so the GH cast was left in shock along with all his fans.
It wasn’t long until the emotional tributes started pouring in from those who worked with Wactor and those who knew him from spending time together off-screen as well.
Let’s look at what some of Wactor’s devastated castmates had to say.
For starters, Sofia Mattsson (Sasha Gilmore Corbin) put up a heartfelt message to her former TV husband.
Out of everyone on the show, Mattsson worked with Wactor the most and was definitely gutted to hear what happened to him.
“My heart is so utterly broken… Johnny was the absolute best. So genuine. So caring. Incredibly hard working and humble…I admire the man he was so much and I’m a better person for having known him,” Mattsson said in a portion of her lengthy post.
Bonnie Burroughs (Gladys Corbin), who played Brando’s mom and worked with him a great deal, was also shattered to hear about such a kind soul being gone too soon.
“I am heartbroken and sickened by this terrible loss. Johnny I love you. My heart breaks for your real mom and your whole family. The world is darker now,” Burroughs said.
Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) admitted she doesn’t do posts like this very often, but she wanted to let everyone know what a special person Johnny Wactor was and extend her condolences to his family.
“I’m in a state of disbelief and complete sadness…Johnny was one of those rare ‘real individuals’ that you almost never come across… I just cannot believe that his life was stolen from him the way it was. My heart hurts. RIP Johnny,” Storms said.
Of course, plenty of other GH cast members shared messages of support for Wactor’s loved ones and reflected on what a terrible loss this was.
There were special tributes from Laura Wright (Carly Spencer), Cynthia Watros (Nina Reeves), Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis), Jon Lindstrom (Kevin Collins), Parry Shen (Brad Cooper), Lydia Look (Selina Wu) and more.
It’s clear that Johnny Wactor was a very beloved person among the GH cast and crew, so they’re grieving as everyone continues to process this horrible crime.
According to what Wactor’s younger brother Grant told the Daily Mail, Wactor was shielding a female co-worker after a bartending shift when he was shot and ultimately died a hero.
