General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, December 16, reveals that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) gave Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) updates on Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) dying under similar circumstances to Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), so they speculated about a connection.
Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) summoned Elizabeth to her office, so Liz took Lucky with her for support.
Since another patient was gone unexpectedly on Elizabeth’s watch, Portia said Liz would have to step back from patient care during the investigation.
Although Portia offered the options of personal leave or administrative duty, Liz picked the latter since she wanted to keep helping at GH any way she could.
Later, Liz and Lucky discussed the creepiness of what was going down at the hospital. Lucky hoped they could get to the bottom of it before someone else got hurt.
Meanwhile, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) showed up after being summoned by Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), who was unable to reach Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) about Dex’s demise.
As Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) cried over Dex’s body and gave him a farewell kiss, Jason stood there looking emotional in the doorway.
Once Josslyn made a sweet speech about how Dex had changed her, she fell into Jason’s arms and accepted his comfort.
Jason eventually took Josslyn to the footbridge, where she reflected on losing Oscar Nero Quartermaine (Garren Stitt) and now Dex.
Although Josslyn was able to say goodbye to Oscar, this situation with Dex was so unexpected.
Josslyn needed answers about what went wrong – and although she knew those answers wouldn’t bring Dex back, she couldn’t let it go until she got them.
Back with Anna, she expressed guilt to Mac Scorpio (John J. York) and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) since she pressured Dex to join the force, but they knew this wasn’t her fault.
Felicia thought back to the events surrounding Dex’s attack in Rice Plaza, but she still felt like she was missing a key detail.
Over with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), he gave Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) a reality check.
If Dante had accidentally fired at Lulu tonight, he would’ve had to tell Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) that his mom was gone all over again.
Lulu realized Dante had a point and apologized if it seemed like she was prioritizing Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) over Rocco.
Dante understood and continued to support Lulu as she worried about never getting a Charlotte reunion.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) admitted that genuine feelings had developed with Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen).
As Drew explained that to Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), he insisted Michael knew Willow wouldn’t have cheated if it wasn’t real.
Next, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) once again threatened to leak the playroom video and bickered with Drew until Lulu arrived.
It was a welcome interruption as Tracy embraced Lulu for their long-awaited reunion.
While Lulu caught up with Tracy, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) talked to Drew in the kitchen.
Although Ned agreed to keep Tracy in check, he warned Drew about the damage that had already been done to Willow and her family.
At the gatehouse, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) refused to let Willow and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) take Michael’s children.
Nina and Willow kept playing up the sleepover adventure that Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Serenity and Sequoia Mork Macko) were going to have, but Carly refused to budge.
Once Michael came home and realized what was happening, Willow insisted the kids needed to be with her tonight.
Michael relented and got confirmation that Willow would call him in the morning, so Willow indeed left with Nina, Wiley and Amelia.
Carly thought Michael just made a mistake that could affect a custody trial, but he recalled how scared he was when Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) took him away from Carly as a boy.
Michael didn’t want Amelia and Wiley feeling that way, but he assured Carly that he wasn’t going to lose his kids.
Once Carly pulled out her phone, she realized she had a ton of missed calls and texts.
Carly was horrified to read about Dex’s demise and gave the news to Michael.
Soon after, Carly found Josslyn on the footbridge with Jason and pulled her daughter into a comforting hug.
Finally, Drew went looking for Willow at the gatehouse and couldn’t find her there, so he tried texting and calling.
Nina was already in the car with Willow and the kids when the call came in, so she convinced her daughter not to answer.
General Hospital spoilers say Nina will continue her efforts to protect Willow now that everything has blown up, so stick with us for more predictions on her next move.
