General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, December 30, reveals that Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) took Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) to the gallery, where she tried to open his eyes to the beauty of her favorite piece of art there.
Kai admittedly struggled to focus on the painting since he was so transfixed by Trina herself!
At Charlie’s Pub, Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) stopped by and praised the work Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) had done on the place.
Kristina handed over a photo from when Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) was younger since she found it cleaning out a desk.
After Lucas offered updates on his latest faceoff with Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison), he admitted Ava Jerome (Maura West) got him out of there.
Lucas explained how Ava had helped him and how they’d discussed the difficulty of losing a child.
Talk eventually turned to the gallery and whether Ava would be able to keep it due to her sudden money struggles.
That news left Kristina looking quite interested in what she’d learned.
At GH, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) assured Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) that he didn’t have to stick around to support her.
Liz downplayed her upcoming meeting with Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Terry Randolph (Cassandra James), but then Dede Clark (Shelley Robertson) surprised her by joining in the medical record review.
Since the hospital’s legal representation was part of this meeting, Elizabeth pushed for answers and learned Dex Heller’s (Evan Hofer) autopsy confirmed an overdose of digitalis caused his fatal heart attack.
It was the same thing that happened to Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), so Elizabeth was being questioned as the head nurse who was on duty during both incidents.
Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) showed up and announced that he was Elizabeth’s lawyer, so he tried to hustle her out of there and shut this meeting down.
However, Liz found out about a third patient who might be connected to all this – an elderly woman named Sylvie Mullen who died back in August under similar circumstances.
Elizabeth learned that Sylvie’s body could be exhumed and that she’d be suspended if she didn’t provide answers now.
Meanwhile, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) met up with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), who gave him some positive updates on his custody battle since Ava may not have the funds to fight him over Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) anymore.
Alexis also pushed Sonny to take Charlie’s away from Kristina since she feared it could bring money laundering concerns.
Sonny insisted the business was clean, but Alexis still worried about mob drama and the FBI investigating.
Since Sonny refused to take Charlie’s back from Kristina, Alexis was forced to relent.
At the boxing gym, Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) gave Lucky a pep talk and some advice on how to support Liz.
Later, Sonny worked out alone and clutched his chest over some apparent heart problems. Once Sonny sank to the floor of the ring, he continued squirming in pain.
As for Lucky, he popped up at Charlie’s hoping to fill the bartender position, so Kristina seemed on board as she encouraged him to make her a drink.
Over with Ava, she arrived in Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) hoping for help now that her divorce settlement had been yanked away, but there was nothing Laura could do.
Ava wound up at Alexis’ office next, but she got the door slammed in her face!
At the café in Prague, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) pushed for a moment alone with Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening), so Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) waited nearby.
Although Lulu tried to convince Valentin that their daughter shouldn’t live life on the run, Valentin wasn’t convinced that Charlotte would be safer in Port Charles.
Lulu was stunned when Valentin revealed that Charlotte got shot while she was in a coma.
Valentin recapped the intruder confusion with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and how it all went down.
Even so, Lulu was concerned about the danger Charlotte might be in once whoever was chasing Valentin caught up with him.
Plus, Lulu feared that if something happened to Valentin, Charlotte would blame herself for it.
Once Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) appeared at Charlotte’s table, he suggested he could take her back to Port Charles if she wanted.
A livid Valentin saw Dante and assumed Lulu had set him up, but she denied it. Although Valentin guessed the cops were on their way, Dante insisted that he came alone.
Valentin still worried that Dante could’ve led someone straight to them – and outside, viewers could see that a sniper was taking aim at Valentin through the window.
