General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, October 21, reveals that Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) broke some bad news to Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) in her office.
Terry explained that Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) had portal vein thrombosis, a condition involving a blood clot that would have to be cleared during the upcoming procedure.
mLulu’s survival odds were worse now, so it’d be up to Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) to decide if she was still willing to move ahead with the transplant.
There were additional concerns since no one on the GH staff had experience with this complication, but Lucky spoke to Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) privately and confirmed that he’d done it successfully before.
Although Isaiah had lingering guilt from another transplant gone wrong, he agreed to perform the surgery.
Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) also talked to Isaiah and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) about the ventilator failure since it was suspiciously accompanied by an alarm failure, too.
If Isaiah hadn’t shown up when he did, there might not have been time to save Lulu.
After Liz and Lucas got updates on Lulu’s complication, they knew things looked bleak. Lucas briefly wondered whether he should tell Laura and Lucky there was no hope, but Liz helped him see that Spencers were stubborn and that he shouldn’t give up.
In the GH chapel, Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) gave Laura support before Lucky appeared with Isaiah and revealed that he’d found a surgeon for Lulu.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) said a heartfelt goodbye to Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) with one last tea party.
Tracy wanted Violet to have the tea set, but Violet insisted Tracy should keep a cup for herself so they could still have tea parties over video chats.
Violet also talked to Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) about how she wanted their baby to be a girl when the time came.
After Violet whispered to Brook Lynn about missing her most of all, she headed off to the airport with Chase.
In the stables, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) talked to Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) about Lulu’s transplant and the sacrifice Sam was making for her.
Although Dante would always love Lulu, he made it clear that she was his past and Sam was his future.
Cody assured Dante that everything would work out OK while Sam spoke with Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) up at the main house.
After Sam delivered the news about being Lulu’s donor match, she said she was hoping Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante) could stay at the Quartermaine mansion while she recovered.
Sam also wanted Jason and Scout to spend some extra time with their kids, so they were totally on board with all that.
In Robert Scorpio’s (Tristan Rogers) office, Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) tried to explain why she kept quiet about Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) for decades, but he wasn’t swayed by her excuses.
Holly admitted she probably would’ve kept the secret forever if Sasha hadn’t started dating Cody, but she had to come clean since Sasha was romantically involved with her cousin.
After Holly made a prediction about the DNA test results proving her claims, she pushed Robert to look after Sasha.
Once Holly exited Robert’s office, she got Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) on the phone and suggested they had some business to discuss.
Back at the Q residence, Sasha talked to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) in the kitchen. Although Maxie was upset about Sasha keeping her mother’s identity a secret, Sasha managed to smooth things over.
Sasha also maintained that Holly had to be lying about her paternity, but Maxie didn’t seem as certain about that!
General Hospital spoilers say Sasha may have to deal with some heartbreaking proof soon, so stay tuned.
