Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, January 12, reveals that Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) showed up at the gallery and asked Ava Jerome (Maura West) if she’d sent out her party invites yet since that was still his Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) takedown plan.
Ava insisted Esme’s partying days were over for a while and explained why she was in jail. When Nikolas heard Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) coming, he hid in the other room.
Nina discussed all the drama happening with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and assured Ava that she wouldn’t put her in the middle.
After Ava spilled the news about Sonny beating up Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and getting arrested, Nina was horrified and revealed Cyrus’ recent priest trick.
Ava warned that the PCPD couldn’t miss this chance to put Sonny behind bars, so Nina dashed off to help him or at least try.
Nikolas reconvened with Ava and suggested this was goodbye since he didn’t plan to stay in Port Charles. Ava wondered when Nikolas would be back, but he wasn’t sure.
Before Nikolas could leave, Ava admitted she was glad she didn’t cause his demise. They shared a tender moment as Nikolas and Ava urged each other to take care of themselves.
At Café Cherie, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) was a little too gleeful about taking down Sonny and mentioned they had DNA that put him at the scene of the crime.
After Robert gushed over all the free time Diane would have if her biggest client was convicted, Diane made it clear she wouldn’t be spending that extra time with him.
At the PCPD, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) tried to calm Esme down since Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) was fine at Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) place.
Spencer knew Esme was a good mom, but he questioned why she’d risk everything by breaking in Wyndemere.
It seemed like Esme went looking for her memories, so she talked about how hard it was to be judged for a past you don’t remember.
Spencer assured Esme that he didn’t want her in prison since Ace would be a lot happier if she didn’t go away.
Esme asked Spencer to bring Ace to the courthouse for the hearing, so he agreed.
After Esme complained about Ava refusing to let this go, Spencer said actions have consequences.
Esme snapped about Spencer skirting consequences his entire life, but she covered by acting like Laura had told her about his past.
However, Esme made a bigger slipup when she called him “Spence,” so Spencer flashed back to the old Esme using the nickname and looked suspicious.
Once Spencer made it to Laura’s apartment, he recalled other past moments with Esme and was convinced she was lying about not having her memories back.
After someone showed up at the door, Spencer opened it and was stunned to come face to face with Nikolas.
At GH, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) woke up following his surgery and learned he came through with flying colors.
Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) were there to support Curtis, but he suggested they should let Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) rest at home.
In their dorm room, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) reassured Josslyn Jacks (temporarily played by Courtney Fulk), who was worried since she’d ratted out Adam Wright (Joshua Benard) to Kiley (Jo Yuan) the RA after his drunken debacle.
Josslyn thought Adam’s problems were too big for her to handle on her own, so Trina felt she did the right thing.
After Trina got a call from the hospital, she told Josslyn that everything went great and that Curtis was awake.
Once Trina made it to the hospital, Curtis found out about her offer to study at the Sorbonne and pushed her to accept it.
Trina admitted Spencer offered to come with her, but Curtis thought she should make it a solo adventure instead.
In a conversation with Portia and Stella, Curtis talked about Esme potentially going to jail and suggested Spencer wouldn’t go to Paris if his brother needed him.
Back in Josslyn’s room, Adam had a meltdown when he realized Joss told the RA about his problems and that there was counselor info on his student portal, which his parents had access to.
After Adam refused to go to health services, he yelled at both Josslyn and Kiley to leave him alone. Adam said he wanted the counselor info taken off his portal and stormed out.
In Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) office, he revealed a crucial test for Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) and explained that he wanted Dex to eliminate Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
Dex wasn’t sure that was the best idea since Sonny’s charges could be upped to manslaughter, but Sonny was adamant about this being the right call.
Without witnesses or security footage, Sonny felt it was best to make it so Cyrus couldn’t testify. If there was any DNA evidence, Sonny felt that Diane could make that go away.
Dex still seemed uneasy, so Sonny played up his disappointment and needed to know he could count on him.
After Sonny asked if Dex was loyal or not, Dex eventually agreed to take Cyrus out for good.
Sonny pushed Dex to do it right away since Cyrus was weak and exposed at the hospital, so Dex asked how they should make it happen.
Once Dex was alone later, he tried to call Josslyn and couldn’t reach her.
Dex ultimately made it to GH and left Josslyn a voicemail about loving her no matter what happened.
After Dex got a text with Cyrus’ room number, he saw Nina approaching the nurses’ desk to ask what room Cyrus was in and ducked out of sight.
General Hospital spoilers say Dex has some tight spots in his future, so stay tuned for updates on what’s in store.
