General Hospital Recap: Monday, March 4 – Jason Is Sonny’s Guardian Angel, Sabotages Rooftop Sniper

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Monday, March 4, reveals that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) seemed surprised and suspicious over Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) invitation, which brought him to her doorstep.

Laura wound up quizzing Cyrus about his collaboration with the PCPD and mentioned the microphone malfunction after his altercation with Heather Webber (Alley Mills).

Cyrus was offended over Laura seemingly implying that he’d stage such a thing and swore on his mother’s life that he relayed all the accurate information from Phillip O’Neill (Jeff Leaf).

Since Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) was sick, he started crying on the monitor. Ace had a high fever, so Cyrus accompanied Laura and her grandson to the hospital.

At GH, Heather was a patient after claiming her run-in with the guard messed up her hip injury from years ago.

Heather also griped about having a rash from the awful sheets and hoped she could get out of her handcuffs due to all the chaffing.

Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) were professional with Heather, but they forced her to remain in the handcuffs and planned to rush all the proper testing to get her out of there quickly.

Once Laura and Cyrus showed up with sick Ace, Heather saw them on her way for her MRI.

That led to another outburst as Heather lashed out over Esme Prince’s (Avery Pohl) demise and played the blame game again.

Cyrus also spoke to Portia and hoped for another chance to make amends, but she once again threatened him with a restraining order and made it clear that she’d never forget what he’d done.

If Cyrus really wanted to help Portia and her family, she warned him to just stay away from them.

Afterward, Cyrus spoke to Laura alone and winced over a twinge in his back.

Laura wondered if that was because of what Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) did to him, so Cyrus admitted it didn’t help.

That said, Cyrus had lived a dangerous life, so he acted like it was catching up with him all these years later.

Laura reflected on Esme being willing to perish to get Ace back and cried over her taking Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) with her.

That gave Cyrus a chance to place his hand on Laura’s and offer comfort.

In Heather’s hospital room, she pulled out a paperclip that she’d been hiding and began trying to unlock her handcuffs.

In the Quartermaine kitchen, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) told Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) about Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) wanting to team up against her grandmother.

Brook Lynn explained how she’d been plotting to gain control of Tracy’s shares and hand them over to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), so Tracy approved of BLQ embracing her Quartermaine roots with a scheme like that.

However, Tracy didn’t approve of Brook Lynn’s desire to leave Deception and focus on music management.

After they bickered for a bit, Tracy got Brook Lynn to stick around for a while longer and follow her artistic dreams on the side.

If Brook Lynn still wanted out later, then Tracy would allow it and give her shares to Maxie.

Brook Lynn also fished for details on Tracy’s interest in Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) and felt that her grandmother had to be more direct in going after what she wanted.

At Selina Wu’s (Lydia Look) warehouse, she argued with Sonny about the poker games she wanted to restart since Sonny insisted The Savoy wasn’t an option.

Ava Jerome (Maura West) was still there with Selina and Sonny when John Cates (John Harrington), Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) barged in with backup.

John had his weapon drawn along with the others and said they were following up on a racketeering tip, but Selina insisted this was her warehouse and nothing illegal would be found.

Selina also claimed that she was just planning some perfect legal poker games with Sonny, but John and the rest of the gang obviously didn’t buy that.

Meanwhile, a sniper named Hamish (Chris Gann) assessed the situation on the rooftop and told “Jacobs” aka undercover Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) that he could still get the shot.

Hamish lined it up and was ready to fire at Sonny, but Jason nudged his arm and made him miss.

Jason told Hamish to leave the gun behind as they made a break for it.

Down in the warehouse, Ava noticed that Sonny’s sleeve had a bullet hole in it, so it was obvious that he was the intended target.

Since Sonny was a victim here, Ava defended him to John and Anna.

However, Anna made it clear that her objective was also to keep Sonny safe, so she was frustrated with all his stonewalling.

Anna felt like Sonny must’ve had an angel on his shoulder since the shooter missed at such close range and warned that it wouldn’t happen next time.

Dante ran after the rooftop suspects and caught up with one of them on the pier.

After Dante aimed his weapon and ordered the suspect to turn around, he was shocked to see that it was Jason.

Unfortunately, Hamish returned and shot Dante, who fell to the ground.

Jason ended up shooting Hamish and confirmed that he was deceased before turning his attention back to wounded Dante.

General Hospital spoilers say Jason’s return arc is just getting started, so stay tuned for updates on all the stunning news ahead.
