General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, April 18, reveals that Ava Jerome (Maura West) had breakfast with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and skipped answering a call from the lab about the pills that had been analyzed.
In a moment alone later, Ava called back and got confirmation that the pills were less than a quarter strength of what the imprint claimed they were.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) definitely wasn’t getting the proper dosage of his medication.
Ava also got updates from Trina about Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) planning to become a cop, so she was taken aback over that news.
At Sonny’s penthouse, he bickered with Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) about whether he should come to the wedding since it was a security issue, but Lois insisted it’d be fine since Sonny had his people and Yuri (Cyrus Hobbi) had people, too.
Sonny relented and agreed to attend Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) nuptials, so Lois was elated.
Once Ava popped up, Lois needled her about moving out by suggesting other possible living arrangements.
Once Lois was gone, Sonny assured Ava that he wasn’t in any hurry for her to leave. Ava insisted she liked looking out for Sonny and wondered if he’d taken his meds.
Sonny admitted he needed to get on that, so Ava asked if they made him sleepy. Once Sonny pointed out they didn’t anymore, he wondered why Ava was asking.
Ava once again acted like she was just looking out for Sonny and watched as he took his pills.
Later, Ava talked about learning something during her breakfast with Trina and spilled that Dex was joining the PCPD, so Sonny looked furious as he slammed his first on the table.
Meanwhile, Dex did well on the physical portion of his test, but Detective Bennett (Kendrick Cross) remained aloof.
Detective Chase (Josh Swickard) gave Dex some praise, but Dex had to wait for his official results.
Although Detective Bennett confessed to Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) that Dex scored in the 98th percentile of all applicants, he still had concerns about bringing Dex on board a cop.
At GH, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) alerted Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) to a crisis since The Savoy was already rented out and he didn’t have a backup plan for Chase’s bachelor party.
Dante assured Finn that he could salvage this and arranged an ax-throwing surprise party, but Chase overheard him talking about it.
Chase said he could pretend to be surprised, but Dante thought Chase was too honest to pull that off.
In Anna’s office, she took Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) statement since he was ready to identify Sonny as his attacker now.
Cyrus also talked about his belief that the guy in scrubs was working for Sonny and meant to do him harm.
Anna admitted that it had come to her attention that the young man Cyrus was referring to had cut all ties with Sonny.
Cyrus wondered if he needed to make arrangements to leave town for his protection, but Anna said his statement would remain confidential until she found the proper use for it.
Afterward, Cyrus crossed paths with Dex and said he almost didn’t recognize him without his scrubs.
Dex was sorry for what happened in Cyrus’ room at GH and was trying to correct the wrong turn he made in his life.
Cyrus said he was at the PCPD trying to do the same thing, so it seemed like he reached an understanding with Dex.
Back at the hospital, Lois visited Finn’s office to quiz him about the rehearsal dinner and ask for any communication that went to Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) to be sent to her, too.
Lois also brought up the fact that Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) only agreed to officiate if there was a backup officiant, so Finn appreciated it when she offered to arrange for one.
At Bobbie’s, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) showed up to help with the broken stove, which led to him needling Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) about her new boyfriend and how they’d already graduated to sleepovers.
Carly indicated that Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) had misconstrued things and explained the story to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) about helping John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) after his attack.
John showed up and flirted with Carly, so Josslyn asked Michael if he thought their mom actually liked him.
Michael downplayed it, but he still felt they should keep an eye on John.
Nearby, John joked that Carly might’ve sent the attackers as payback for the search on her house.
After John said Carly might’ve been sending a warning, she urged him to call first if he indeed wanted a warning.
John pointed out that he didn’t have Carly’s number, so he’d have to provide his number instead. Once John put his number in Carly’s phone, she seemed intrigued as she mulled it over later.
