General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, February 22, reveals that Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) brought Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) to Charlie’s Pub as planned, so Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) hoped Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) could do a karaoke serenade for Maxie.
Spinelli reminisced with Maxie about when he sang to her at their wedding, so she admitted she could never forget.
After Cody surprised Sasha by putting her name on the list, they sang a fun duet together.
Spinelli privately called Cody out on his matchmaking mission and wondered if this was actually about Cody scoring more time around Sasha. Regardless, Spinelli pushed Cody to back off.
However, Spinelli still wound up singing a ballad that touched Maxie’s heart. The pair shared a close moment afterward, which led to Spinelli planting a kiss on Maxie.
Maxie seemed into it at first, but then she pulled away and ran out the door in a hurry. Sasha and Cody thought their Cupid scheme was going well, but then Maxie told Sasha they had to go and dragged her away.
At Crimson, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) tried to convince Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) that they already got their revenge on Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros), so now it was best to just forget about her.
Drew couldn’t do that and wanted to humiliate Nina like he’d been humiliated when he was beaten at Pentonville.
After Drew let something slip about going to prison for Carly, she acknowledged his sacrifice and got why he felt this way about Nina.
Drew eventually pointed out that he couldn’t be a passenger in Carly’s life and basically acted like he was entitled to use his own methods to deal with Nina.
Carly didn’t want Drew to feel like it was her way or the highway, but she couldn’t deal with all this Nina drama anymore.
When Carly agreed to take over Nina’s job at Crimson, she did it on the condition that this would end the war with Nina. Drew agreed and was now going back on his word, so Carly said this would be her first and last issue before stomping off.
At Pentonville, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) wore a wire for Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) plan, which involved him serving as a volunteer chaplain and trying to get Phillip O’Neill (Jeff Leaf) to unburden himself about who he sold the cache of weapons to.
While Anna and Dante listened elsewhere, Cyrus tried to befriend troubled O’Neill and played up how confession was good for the soul. It seemed like Cyrus was making good progress.
Unfortunately, John Cates (Adam Harrington) barged in the other room demanding that Anna shut down the operation since the FBI wasn’t informed.
John found out when he showed up to question the witness and learned this scheme was already afoot. Dante thought it seemed like John wanted to tank this investigation over his wounded pride.
John acted like Dante was biased because of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), but Anna pointed out Sonny had been targeted twice now.
Dante hinted that John might have a personal issue with Anna, but John warned that was a strong accusation.
Anna insisted this plan could actually work and questioned why John was so determined to stop it.
If John forced Anna to shut down this operation, she vowed to go to his superior and insist that he wasn’t fit to investigate this case.
Anna asked John what it was going to be as she stared at him and awaited his answer.
Next on Thursday’s GH episode Selina Wu (Lydia Look) took Sonny to a gardening shed, where disloyal Li (Samuel Wang) the guard was tied up.
Sonny quickly deduced that Li had been paid by the same people who were out to get him.
Selina had some instruments of torture there, so Sonny picked one up and made it clear that Li had better talk.
Li said he only worked with a go-between, but he eventually admitted he heard the guy on the phone and that the boss went by the name “Stone.”
Sonny spoke with Selina privately and seemed concerned about the timing of Agent Cates’ recent arrival.
Selina was suspicious as well when she found out John had a deceased brother named Stone and that he named his son Stone in memory of him.
Sonny returned to tied-up Li and hinted about him having one shot at saving his life, so Li seemed eager to obey orders.
General Hospital spoilers say Sonny will keep working to get to the bottom of all this, so stay tuned for updates on any stunning news that’s still to come.
