General Hospital Recap: Tuesday, September 3 – Jason Plays Hero for Ava – Carly & Sonny’s Passionate Alibi

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 3, reveals that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) was furious when he stumbled across Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) standing over Agent John “Jagger” Cates’ (Adam J. Harrington) body with a gun.

Sonny tried to defend his actions by arguing that Agent Cates was coming after Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi), but Michael didn’t want to hear it. Instead, Michael sent Sonny inside to Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), who could give him an alibi.

Sonny indeed found Carly and spoke to her in one of the Quartermaine rooms alone. If anyone asked, Sonny said they’d been up there for the last half hour.

Carly got more info off-screen and joined Sonny downstairs, where he tucked in his shirt in front of Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).

Tracy was disgusted over Sonny and Carly’s hookup since that’s obviously the story they were trying to sell. Nina quizzed Sonny and Carly about whether they were back together, but Sonny suggested things just got a little heated when they were having a conversation.

Meanwhile, Michael cleaned up the bullet casings from the deck and ultimately called Chase about the shooting by the boathouse – though he played dumb about just finding John’s body and not knowing anything else.

Chase forced everyone at the mansion to stay for questioning since Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was on the way to help with the investigation.

At Drew Quartermaine’s (Cameron Mathison) office, he continued his make-out session with Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), but they ultimately broke apart and knew they couldn’t do this.

Drew admitted that he often wished he’d met Willow first, but she insisted she should honor her commitment to Michael and keep how she felt about Drew locked in her heart.

Although Willow wanted to get a rideshare over to the Quartermaine estate, Drew insisted on driving her since the roads were messy. Once they got there, Michael gave Drew and Willow the news about finding Agent Cates’ body.

Michael had to stick around the boathouse to give a statement to police, but he urged Drew to take Willow inside to safety.

After they entered the mansion, Drew and Willow spread the word about Michael discovering a dead Agent Cates. Sonny played it cool and tried not to do anything that would indicate his guilt.

Back outside, photos were taken of the crime scene, but Anna and Chase noted that the weapon was gone along with any bullet casings. That led Chase and Anna to believe the killer knew how to clean things up.

Since John had made a lot of enemies since coming to Port Charles, Anna and Chase figured they had a long list of suspects.

In the Quartermaine living room, Tracy pointed the finger at Sonny since he loathed John and was on the property the same night his foe got shot.

At Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) house, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) came over since Kristina was missing. Alexis was starting to panic, but Sam worked to calm her down as she wondered where Kristina might’ve gone.

After Kristina made a dramatic and tearful display at the baby’s graveside, she came home to Alexis’ place and filled her with relief. Kristina explained her late-night cemetery visit and appreciated it when Sam opened up about her own difficult experience with losing a baby.

Since Kristina was stuck on the idea of getting revenge on Ava Jerome (Maura West), Alexis expressed concern to Sam privately.

Later, Alexis was cleaning up some of Kristina’s things when her eyes widened over the gun in her daughter’s purse.

After Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) found Isaiah Gannon’s (Sawandi Wilson) unconscious body on the side of the road, he called 911 about the hit-and-run accident.

Over with Boyle (Amor Owens), she forced Ava to another area at gunpoint as Ava begged for her life. Before Boyle could pull the trigger, Jason drew his weapon and warned her to drop her own.

Boyle finally did, so Ava picked up the gun and taunted her before suggesting she’d leave this to the professional. However, Jason told Ava they were in this together now as he restrained Boyle.

Jason had Ava check to make sure the scene was clear before he prepared to call the police.

At GH, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) finally wore Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) down on the idea of getting coffee together, so she caught up with him during a break. That gave Ric a chance to quiz Liz about Heather Webber (Alley Mills) since he was taking her case.

Ric praised Elizabeth over her head nurse gig and convinced her to have ice cream with him once she was off work.

Once Isaiah was brought to the ER, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) got updates on his injuries and sought Jordan Ashford’s (Tanish Harper) help to figure out who he was since he didn’t have an ID.

As Jordan used her resources, she found out Jason called in the hit-and-run and intended to find out why he left John Doe at the crime scene.
