General Hospital (GH) recap for Wednesday, January 24, reveals that Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) showed up at Kristina Corinthos-Davis’ (Kate Mansi) place with organic groceries and wouldn’t stop hovering until Kristina finally agreed to take an early at-home pregnancy test.
After waiting a few minutes on the results, Kristina realized the test was positive and relayed the news to Molly, who jumped into her sister’s arms as they celebrated.
At The Savoy, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) shared some special moments with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr), Ava Jerome (Maura West) and others ahead of her Paris trip with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez).
Spencer faced a minor interrogation from Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) and Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) before Trina dragged him away.
Although Portia told Stella that she was letting Trina make her own decisions, she still thought it’d be better for Trina to go to Paris alone.
Spencer privately thanked Portia for including him in this goodbye party, but Portia acted like the bash was all Curtis’ doing.
After Spencer assured Portia that he wanted Trina’s happiness, Portia admitted she didn’t doubt his feelings.
The problem was that trouble usually followed Spencer – and Portia didn’t want any more trouble for Trina.
Since Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) were late for the party, Spencer worried that was because of his recent actions.
Spencer finally confessed to Trina and Josslyn Jacks (temporarily played by Courtney Fulk) that he willingly handed Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) over to Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss), but he insisted it was because Esme had her memories back.
Although Spencer couldn’t prove Esme recalled her horrible crimes, he relayed why he suspected it and expressed his concerns.
Trina wished Spencer had told her the truth right away, but she was clearly alarmed over the idea of Esme going off the rails again.
Spencer knew they only had one opportunity to get Esme convicted in court, but they needed to prove she’d regained her memories.
Josslyn assured Spencer and Trina that she’d get the proof they needed and that they could come back from Paris for Esme’s trial.
In the meantime, Spencer warned Josslyn to be careful since Esme was inevitably planning something.
After everyone gathered for a toast to celebrate Spencer and Trina’s sendoff, they shared a kiss.
In Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) office, Esme rummaged around and found a credit card for The Invader. Once Esme hopped on her laptop, she prepared to use that card to book a flight out of town.
When Kevin appeared, he startled Esme and seemingly didn’t realize what she was up to. Esme claimed she was trying to stay busy with work since she couldn’t just stay home and worry about her son.
Although Kevin wondered why Esme didn’t go to the cops when Nikolas first took Ace, she acted like she knew she was on her own in this.
Kevin assured Esme that he’d do everything he could along with Laura and suggested Alexis wouldn’t mind if they used her office to talk.
After Kevin basically turned this into a therapy session, he urged Esme to accept help and asked if she wanted to change.
Esme claimed she did, but then she snuck up on Kevin from behind and knocked him out with heavy piece of art from the room.
Once Kevin was unconscious, Esme insisted she wasn’t falling for that and muttered that he should save his pity for Spencer and Trina.
At Pentonville, Heather Webber (Alley Mills) waved Laura over and confirmed that she had information on their shared grandson.
After Heather acknowledged that Nikolas took Ace, Heather asked how on earth Laura knew that.
Heather admitted Esme came to see her and that she now had her memories back. Since Esme was stubborn and refused to run, Heather wanted her daughter in Pentonville so she could watch over her.
Heather begged for help and stressed the urgency since Esme wanted revenge, especially on Trina and Spencer.
Since Esme could get in more trouble, Heather pushed Laura to stop her before she did something horrible.
At Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) house, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) showed up with new riding boots for James West (Gary James Fuller) since the ones Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) gave him at Christmas were a bit too small.
James excitedly tried the new ones on, but they were too big. Cody insisted he’d call the guy he got them from and set up an exchange, so he stepped outside as Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) followed.
Spinelli accused Cody of trying to impress Maxie with expensive gifts, but Cody said he viewed Maxie liked family and thought Spinelli seemed jealous.
Although Cody offered romantic pointers in case Spinelli wanted Maxie back, Spinelli declined the help.
Back inside on Wednesday’s GH episode, James offered to trade his boots for money to help with the bills, but Maxie said they were Cody’s gift for James to enjoy.
Afterward, Maxie felt guilty about James worrying about money troubles, but Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) thought James got his generous heart from his mom.
Cody agreed to stick around and play a game with James, but Spinelli remained wary of him.
However, Felicia privately told Spinelli that she was wrong about Cody and urged Spinelli to give him a chance.
