General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that John “Jagger” Cates (Adam J. Harrington) will regret getting tangled up in an alliance with Ava Jerome (Maura West). Ava has proven that she only looks out for number one, so John is mistaken if he thinks she’ll show him any kind of loyalty.
Just look at how fast Ava threw away her friendship with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) for a chance to get closer to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
That plan obviously didn’t work out very well for Ava, but it proved exactly the kind of person she is.
If Ava would cast her bestie aside like Nina meant nothing, then she’d turn on John in a heartbeat!
The show may be gearing up for a twist where Ava frames John and turns him into her fall guy over this placebo situation.
Valentin Cassadine (James Patick Stuart) is the one who first ordered the pharmacist to change Sonny’s meds to one quarter of their usual strength.
GH fans will recall that Ava discovered that change after taking some of Sonny’s pills and growing suspicious when they didn’t do much of anything.
That led to Ava having the pills tested in a lab, which might be important.
Ava could point to the lab test results as proof that her story about not ordering the altered meds adds up.
Why would Ava have Sonny’s pills tested to see what was in them if she launched this plot? That’s the question Ava might pose to Sonny, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and the cops if need be.
Of course, Ava ultimately blackmailed the pharmacist into giving Sonny full placebos, but she’s covered her tracks in a clever way by convincing Cates to get rid of Clement (Philip Cass).
That may backfire on John if Ava points the finger at him and claims HE is the one who ordered Sonny’s placebos.
Ava might pretend that John confessed his plot after she discovered the pills were only at a quarter strength.
Perhaps Ava will insist that when Sonny wasn’t going off the rails fast enough, Cates told Clement to go full placebo and later sent him away to hide his own trail.
John will inevitably dispute all this, but he’s going to look awfully guilty – especially after the way he was provoking Sonny at the courthouse not too long ago.
Now John has made the pharmacist connected to this case vanish, so he may land in some hot water.
Ava told Jason that Sonny had another mysterious enemy who was behind the pill swap, but she refused to divulge a name and acted like her knowledge was the only thing keeping her alive.
However, there should come a time when Ava indeed offers a name – and once she does, will that name be Agent John Cates?
Ava doesn’t know Valentin was ever involved, so it makes sense for her to pin it on John and try to direct Sonny’s rage at another target.
