General Hospital (B&B) spoilers reveal that the show offered up a big mystery when the gun that could clear Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) arrived at the PCPD. It showed up in a neat little package, but it was delivered in the security camera’s blind spot.
The cops have no way of knowing who found the weapon in Blackstone Canyon, but they’ve determined that it’s the right one since it has residue that lines up with it being in that canyon for a few weeks.
Plus, the gun is registered to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), who happens to be Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) ex and Kristina Corinthos-Davis’ (Kate Mansi) father.
Now the cops have every reason to believe this was the gun Alexis disposed of.
They also realize that if Sonny fired at John “Jagger” Cates (Adam J. Harrington), they’ll never find the real murder weapon and will have to build a case without it.
Of course, Alexis is about to go free based on all the new findings. Alexis’ freedom may have been Jack Brennan’s (Charles Mesure) goal for a couple reasons if he’s behind the gun delivery.
Brennan and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) had a lot of heat on them due to the private investigator drama that Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) unleashed.
By clearing Alexis, Brennan has eliminated the need for that private investigator.
Brennan couldn’t have known that Sonny would launch a confession plan at the worst possible time.
In fact, Brennan might’ve been hoping to eliminate Sonny’s need to confess since that’d make trouble for Carly too as her ex’s alibi.
Fortunately, our predictions hint that Sonny will stop short of confessing once he’s tipped off to the proof that’s being withheld.
Sonny should remain a free man, but you can bet he’ll still be the top suspect in Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Robert Scorpio’s (Tristan Rogers) eyes.
If Brennan made sure this special delivery showed up at the police station, he solved one problem by taking the heat off Carly temporarily, but another problem could be brewing.
With the investigation focused on Sonny instead of locked-up Alexis, there’ll be more chances to trip him up and create a mess for Carly since she’s caught up in all this.
Carly’s phony alibi could remain a problem as the police fight even harder to prove Sonny’s guilt.
