General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that we’ve got plenty of comings and goings news to report. The show’s in a bit of a transition period right now since several storylines are wrapping up while other stories kick off or come with new twists.
For starters, we should address the latest flood of exits, including the temporary departure of Nicholas Alexander Chavez as Spencer Cassadine.
Spencer’s body is believed to have been washed out to sea, but his turtledove washing toward the shore suggests he made it to shore, too.
Of course, we know Spencer will be off canvas for several months due to Chavez filming his new Netflix show, but he’ll be back on GH down the road.
That means Spencer is still alive, so Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) will get the reunion she’s so desperate for eventually.
As for Esme Prince (Avery Pohl), her exit has been confirmed along with Adam Wright’s (Joshua Benard) departure now that his storyline has concluded.
In other news, Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) returned with Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) in his arms in the February 2, so will Laura Collins (Genie Francis) convince him to stay in Port Charles with his youngest son?
It would be hard to get any major charges to stick without Esme’s testimony, so Nikolas may be able to avoid jail time and focus on raising Ace as he grieves.
Spencer’s memorial service will also bring Cameron Webber (William Lipton) home since Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) just called him up to deliver horrible updates.
We should mention that Courtney Fulk (temporary Josslyn Jacks) wrapped her run when Adam’s story finished, so now McCoy’s back from her leave of absence and officially playing Josslyn again.
As for the surprise recast that everyone’s been buzzing about, Adam Harrington has taken over the role of John “Jagger” Cates. Harrington slid in Antonio Sabato Jr.’s old spot as a recast, so he’ll be able to put his own spin on the character.
Although he went by “Jagger” in the past, it’s John now since he outgrew the nickname – at least according to John’s upcoming comments to Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) in the February 5 episode.
Jeff Leaf is also playing O’Neill, the arms dealer who got tangled up in Anna and Jordan Ashford’s (Tanisha Harper) trap. O’Neill will soon be taken into custody as the FBI investigation continues.
Finally, there’ll be an unexpected mourner who pops up for Esme on February 7, so we’ll see if that involves Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) escape or perhaps Maggie Fitzerald’s (Heather Olt) surprise appearance since she was Esme’s nanny.
It’s even possible Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) could make a stunning return from the grave, but Maggie’s inclusion perhaps makes the most sense.
Heather Olt was already on set to film those Toronto scenes, so she may have stuck around to film scenes where Maggie mourns Esme as well.
General Hospital spoilers say some other comings and goings shockers are still to come, so stay tuned.
