General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) has a new reason to be concerned now that she knows Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) sacrificed everything for Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) sake. As a result, Sam fears that Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) will discover the truth and end up devastated.
In GH’s June 27 episode, Sam expressed that fear to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and got some support. Let’s take a closer look at Sam’s dialogue and consider where this storyline is headed next.
“I thought that maybe – just maybe – for once he would put his kids first, but no,” Sam said. “Carly is his priority. Always was, always will be. Nothing else matters, not really anyway. And if Danny ever knew that, it would break his heart.”
Dante suggested they’d just have to make sure Danny never knew, but secrets have a way of coming out in Port Charles. It may not be long until Danny indeed discovers the real reason Jason pretended to be deceased and stayed away for so long.
It’s possible that the show was laying the groundwork for Danny’s heartbroken reaction with Sam’s comments.
Maybe the writers were foreshadowing Danny’s angry devastation – and if that’s the case, Danny could push Jason away once he learns he put Carly above all else.
Danny might even go as far as disowning Jason for acting like he didn’t have a choice when he actually chose Carly.
However, it’s also possible that Sam’s got it all wrong. What if Sam is letting her own view influence how she believes Danny will react?
After all, Sam keeps talking about how much alike Danny and Jason are.
Perhaps Danny is mature enough to grasp the situation and even praise Jason for trying to keep little Donna Corinthos’ (Scarlett Spears) mom out of prison.
Danny surely has strong friendships of his own, so he might be able to understand why Jason did what he did to save Carly.
Jason thought he was signing up for a few months of FBI work that would prevent Carly from doing 20 years in the slammer.
Of course, Jason was forced to stay away far longer – and now Carly could still be going to prison if the FBI doesn’t honor the terms of the agreement.
Even so, Jason’s heart was in the right place.
Danny seems to get along with Jason because he understands who his dad is at his core, so maybe he’ll be more understanding than Sam thinks!
Regardless, viewers will have a chance to see Danny’s reaction once he finally finds out what the FBI’s been holding over Jason.
Danny will discover the RICO violations and the sacrifice Jason made for Carly, so stay tuned for updates on how he’ll feel about all that.
No matter how Danny responds to Jason’s sacrifice, our predictions suggest that their father-son bond is going to be just fine in the end.
