General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the show’s surrogacy storyline has been a trainwreck – and now that Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) is getting closer to giving birth, things are only getting worse.
Since TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) felt pressured to use Kristina as a surrogate, he blames Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) now that they’re facing the reality that Kristina could try to keep the baby.
The issues between Molly and TJ are only fueling Kristina’s concerns, so that’s making her more inclined to look into her rights and obligations as this baby’s biological mother.
Plus, Blaze aka Allison “Allie” Rogers (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) and Kristina are starting to wish this was their baby instead.
Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) warned Kristina to think long and hard before breaking the promise she made, but what happens if Kristina indeed goes back on her promise to give Molly and TJ a baby?
That could lead to a messy custody dispute, but the truth is that New York law recognizes Kristina as the mother here – and there’s nothing Molly and TJ can do about that. TJ will still have rights as well, but Kristina can keep this child if she wants to.
This storyline could lead to Kristina landing in a tense co-parenting arrangement with TJ, who could end up divorced from Molly if their relationship problems worsen.
However, there might be an easy solution once GH writers are done milking the drama out of all this.
Will Molly eventually learn she’s pregnant with a miracle baby – one that could save her domestic partnership with TJ and soften the blow of Kristina keeping the little one she’s bringing into the world?
Unless the show delivers some type of story twist like that, Molly and Kristina’s bond as sisters could be completely destroyed.
Having Kristina and Molly be mothers together might be the only way to salvage their connection now that things have gone off the rails.
Of course, we can’t forget about Andrea Gates’ (Lily Anne Harrison) suspicious off-screen miscarriage either.
If Andrea secretly kept that baby for herself, that might be another path to motherhood for Molly.
That said, there’s a certain satisfying simplicity that could come from Molly miraculously getting pregnant after all the complications this storyline has brought for her.
