There are some new reasons why Nikolas might have an early release coming up, so let’s talk about them.
For starters, plenty of viewers have objected to seeing Laura Collins (Genie Francis) so fired up about Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) case when her own son is behind bars. Could all the fan outrage lead to a change in Nikolas’ storyline?
Nikolas may have wrongfully imprisoned Esme Prince (Avery Pohl), but Heather did far worse during her reign of terror as “The Hook.”
Although Heather has cobalt poisoning as an excuse now, it’s still been ridiculous to see Laura so fixated on justice for her when Nikolas is still locked away.
Should Nikolas really have to keep paying for what he did to Esme after she caused Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) presumed demise?
Maybe Nikolas could get out of prison sooner than planned since Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) is coming back to Port Charles by late summer.
Nikolas is Lucky’s half-brother, so it’d be nice to have them both back on-screen for a while.
There have also been hints about Lulu Spencer (last played by Emme Rylan) potentially waking up from her coma, so that’s another reason why Nikolas should be released early.
Nikolas needs to be around for his half-sister, so GH writers might be gearing up for multiple family reunions.
Laura has been emotional over all her children being out of reach one way or another, but that could change if they all come back to her – including Nikolas.
Now that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) is a lawyer again, could she pitch in on getting Nikolas his freedom?
We’ll have to wait and see, but Adam Huss has impressed many fans with his spin on Nikolas Cassadine and deserves more airtime.
