General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that there’s been a lot of talk about Kai Taylor’s (Jens Austin Astrup) talent as PCU’s starting quarterback.
Kai is a huge deal and has basically put their football program on the map from the sound of it.
It’s clear that Kai is expected to achieve great things and become a rising NFL star once his college football days are done.
However, that plan probably isn’t going to work out – at least not if the show wants Kai to stick around and be a long-lasting love interest for Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali)!
As such, there’ll have to be something that gets in the way of Kai’s path for the future.
It’s possible Kai will simply change his mind and opt to do something more artistic, especially after spending time with Trina and getting inspired by her.
That said, our predictions point to a far more dramatic route for Kai.
A devastating twist could be brewing that’ll pull Trina closer to Kai down the road, so let’s talk about some recent on-screen hints.
In GH’s November 21 episode, Kai got in the boxing ring with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) for some sparring.
Some jokes were tossed around about what would happen if Kai injured that golden arm of his.
Kai’s coach wouldn’t have approved of him getting in the ring with Dex, so he planned to keep that on the down low.
Of course, Dex and Kai were careful, but we’re getting some bad vibes here.
The show may have been setting up some other situation that’ll happen with Kai down the line. Whether it happens on the field or off, Kai could get hurt at some point.
Perhaps Kai’s NFL dreams will be dashed once he faces a career-ending injury. Kai’s world could get turned upside down in an instant and leave him leaning on Trina as he struggles to cope.
Trina understands what it’s like to make plans and have the universe rip everything away in one terrible moment.
That’s how things went down for Trina when she lost Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) in Paris.
Kai may have to figure out a new identity for himself once he’s not a star quarterback anymore, so maybe Trina can help him and move beyond her own grief in the process.
