General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal there have been some rumblings about cast cuts at the ABC soap, so that’s left fans concerned when it comes to their favorite GH stars. Once viewers started reaching out to Laura Wright (Carly Spencer) with fears about Carly’s exit, she decided to offer some clarity on social media.
In response to someone’s post about a casting shakeup and her departure as Carly, Wright shut the idea down hard. Let’s look at what Wright had to say about the Carly exit buzz.
“NOT TRUE,” Wright insisted in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
It’s clear that Wright plans on staying put as Carly, so she’ll remain a key player who’s involved in plenty of Port Charles drama.
It turns out Laura Wright isn’t the only one who’s been seeing concerns about her departing the show.
Jon Lindstrom (Kevin Collins) replied to Wright’s post and admitted he’d been through a similar experience recently.
“Whaaat?? I just read I was leaving soon too! Are you saying … not everything on the internet is true?” Lindstrom asked as he joked around with Wright in his response.
“Haaaa it’s CRAZY!!” Wright said as she wrapped up the social media exchange – and she added three emojis of a woman facepalming to really get her frustration across.
Of course, we should point out that there’s some genuine departure buzz surrounding some other GH stars – like Michael Easton (Hamilton Finn), who’s certainly getting the kind of writing that makes sense for a looming exit.
However, there are plenty of other Port Charles staples – like Laura Wright and Jon Lindstrom – who are obviously staying put in their respective roles for the foreseeable future.
Carly in particular remains at the center of some juicy drama since she’s the reason Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was forced to work for the FBI.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens once Carly gets updates on the leverage that John “Jagger” Cates (Adam J. Harrington) is holding over Jason.
Carly will no doubt blame herself for Jason’s problems, but he’d sacrifice almost anything to keep her out of prison!
Our predictions point to Carly finding out about the RICO violations and criminal conspiracy charges sooner or later, so she’ll have to deal with the news that Jason spared her from legal consequences.
