General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) marriage proposal brought an interesting response from Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). When Dante pulled out the ring and popped the question by Sam’s hospital bed, she insisted it was OK if he still loved Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins).
Sam didn’t want Dante feeling like he had to propose to thank her for being Lulu’s donor or to prove that he loved her, too.
However, Dante was quick to assure Sam of how much he adored the life they’d built and how he wanted to grow old together.
Sadly, Sam and Dante won’t get that chance thanks to Kelly Monaco’s firing.
It would’ve been lovely to see Dante and Sam plan a wedding and have a real future – one that would’ve been complicated be Lulu’s coma awakening.
GH is missing out on some soapy drama by getting rid of Sam right now, so that’s made her departure even more frustrating for fans.
The show’s leaving so much love triangle material on the table by writing Sam out – especially in such a permanent way.
The bad news is Sam’s heartbreaking demise will leave Dante with a mountain of grief to contend with.
The good news is that Sam essentially just gave Dante her blessing to move on with Lulu when he’s ready.
Of course, Dante will need a chance to grieve and put his life back together somehow.
There’ll be a lot of tough emotions swirling around inside Dante, so we’re not saying he’ll immediately reunite with Lulu following her wakeup call.
That said, there’ll come a point when Dante’s heart heals enough to move on.
It makes sense that it’ll eventually be with Lulu – especially since Sam told Dante it was OK if he still loved her.
Sam would want Dante to find happiness again, so he may find it with Lulu once he’s had a proper mourning period.
Dante may ultimately think back to Sam’s words after his proposal and realize it’s indeed OK if he still loves Lulu.
Our GH predictions point to Lulu and Dante facing some challenges on their way to a reunion, but they should get there sooner or later!
