General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will get some news that he’s not happy about during the week of April 15-19. That’s when Sonny will discover Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) has a new job at the PCPD in the works.
Dex will be put to the test as he undergoes his cop training, so he’ll hope to impress Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Detective Bennett (Kendrick Cross) with all his skills.
Of course, Sonny certainly won’t be impressed when he gets updates on Dex’s efforts to become a police officer!
It’ll no doubt leave Sonny furious and feeling like Dex is committing the ultimate betrayal.
Sonny tolerates the fact that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) is a cop since he loves his son and respects him.
Dante is able to separate the detective part of his life from his relationship with his father, so there’s an understanding between them.
With Dex, it’ll be a whole different story!
This is a case of Dex repeatedly defying Sonny’s orders and coming back to PC after Sonny gave him one last chance to survive with a new life elsewhere.
It probably won’t even make sense to Sonny considering Dex isn’t dating Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) anymore.
There’s nothing tying Dex to Port Charles that should make him willing to risk his life like this, but he’s doing it anyway.
GH fans know Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) pushed Dex into this job since she feels like he’ll be an asset, but it’s also about keeping him safe.
In Anna’s opinion, Dex’s cop status will offer protection since Sonny doesn’t want to cross that line of going after someone on the police force.
However, Anna may be wrong this time around since we’re not dealing with the usual Sonny anymore.
This is a Sonny who isn’t thinking clearly due to his altered meds, so there’s no limit to what he might do as his mental state deteriorates.
Regardless, you can bet Sonny will be livid over Dex’s cop plan. It could lead to Sonny confronting Dex for being a coward and thinking this will save him from a grim fate.
It’s easy to imagine Sonny getting in Dex’s face and warning that maybe it won’t offer as much protection as he thinks.
Our predictions hint that more trouble is brewing for Dex eventually, so don’t miss what’s ahead for his character.
General Hospital spoilers say Sonny will become increasingly unhinged until his medication situation is resolved, so stay tuned to see how low he’ll sink.
