General Hospital Thursday, August 8 Recap: Cates Gets Rid of Pharmacist – Ava Hints at Life-Saving Leverage

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, August 8, reveals that Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) dreamed she was holding her perfect baby girl and woke up to the horrifying reality that she was gone.

Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) dropped by to offer up the hospital’s counseling resources before Kristina broke down to Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) about the loss of HER baby.

Meanwhile, Heather Webber (Alley Mills) popped up with a guard and tried to apologize to Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) before Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) lashed out to stop her.

Afterward, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) threatened lawsuits until the guard finally let him in Heather’s hospital room.

Scott offered to represent Heather in a new trial and go after the company behind the faulty hip replacement since they could get a lot of money out of this.

Plus, Heather would be free to spend time with Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay), so he urged her to mull it over.

Since Trina didn’t let Portia fight her battles for her, she showed up in Heather’s room and let her say whatever she wanted to say.

Heather sincerely apologized for the pain her actions had caused.

Although Trina couldn’t forgive Heather or Esme Prince (Avery Pohl), she agreed with Heather about hoping she wouldn’t hurt anyone else and left in tears.

In Donna Corinthos’ (Scarlett Spears) room, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) lectured her about the dangers of taking someone else’s medicine and warned her to never take anything without an adult present.

That said, Donna wasn’t in trouble and grew excited about having some popsicles to soothe her throat.

While Carly took Donna home, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) showed Sonny the incriminating photos of Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) confrontation with Kristina.

Sonny also assumed Ava was behind his medication swap, so he urged Jason to pay Ava a visit and see if she had anything to say.

Next, Sonny gave Alexis updates on the photos of Ava putting her hands on Kristina before her fall, so Alexis was furious.

When Scott appeared and asked for Alexis’ help defending Heather, she asked if he was insane and refused.

Back in Kristina’s room, Sonny kissed her head and apologized for waking her once she stirred.

Kristina was glad Sonny was there and ultimately pushed him to make Ava pay for what she’d done.

At the PCPD, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) summoned Agent John “Jagger” Cates (Adam J. Harrington) and quizzed him about his relationship with Ava, but he acted like his personal time was none of her business.

Anna disagreed now that Ava had been arrested, so she told John about Kristina’s fall, her baby’s demise and all the charges.

Although Anna assumed John believed he’d found an ally in Ava, she warned against trying to take Sonny down.

Agent Cates refused to let Anna stand in his way and stormed out of her office.

In lockup, Ava got a visit from John and swore to him that Kristina’s fall was an accident.

Ava also mentioned hiding John’s bag since Kristina tripped over it, but the cops still found it in the aftermath.

Now that Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) was uncovering Sonny’s placebo situation, Ava knew she’d be blamed and pushed John to convince the pharmacist to run.

John vowed not to let Sonny hurt Ava and indeed showed up in the pharmacist’s office, where he flashed his badge and told Clement (Philip Cass) to come with him.

When Jason showed up to see Ava in her cell, she feared Sonny sent him to eliminate her.

Jason talked about the incriminating photos before hurling accusations about Ava switching Sonny’s meds for placebos since she did the same with Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig).

However, Ava insisted Sonny had another enemy who was behind the medication swap.

Although Ava found out after the switch was ordered, she played up someone else’s guilt and acted like she couldn’t divulge the name or else she’d be expendable.

After Carly called Anna over to her place, she offered news on Donna’s ordeal and how they discovered Sonny’s med swap.

Carly wanted Ava charged for this, but Anna admitted it’d be hard to prove.

Anna seemed more concerned about Ava’s life being at stake and questioned how much Sonny was in the loop on.
