General Hospital Tuesday, July 23 Recap: Ava & John’s Make-Out Session Interrupted – Carly’s FBI Surrender

General Hospital Tuesday, July 23 Recap- Ava & John’s Make-Out Session Interrupted, Carly’s FBI Surrender

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, July 23, reveals that Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) found a crankier-than-usual Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) in the stables, so he tended to her injured wrist following a horse bite.

Ned also acknowledged that it was Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) birthday and assumed that was the real reason Tracy was so glum. Tracy opened up about her love and loss, so she was grateful to have Ned to lean on.

At Bobbie’s, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) met with Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) and offered updates on how things blew up with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) when they discussed the custody case.

Michael couldn’t be the one to testify on Sonny’s behalf, so he pushed Kristina to do it instead.

However, Kristina felt she was just as much of a liability since she could be asked about the Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) attack she witnessed.

At Sonny’s place, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) showed up to insist that John Cates (Adam J. Harrington) was trying to take him down.

Sonny hinted about someone needing to beat a lesson into John, but Carly didn’t think they needed a repeat of that.

Carly also questioned if Sonny had told anyone about his attack on Dex, so he admitted Ava Jerome (Maura West) knew.

That left Carly concerned now that John was potentially cozying up to Ava as an ally.

Sonny also came clean about clashing with Michael earlier, so he hoped Carly could help him fix things.

Carly reminded Sonny that he called her a traitor and pushed her away, so she said she was done cleaning up his messes and stomped off.

Once John stopped by Ava’s suite to check on her, he urged her to give him info on Sonny’s crimes.

Ava was hesitant since charges rarely stuck against Sonny, so he could retaliate.

John made it clear that he’d help Ava keep Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) and would protect her.

Ava admitted it’d been a long time since she was on the receiving end of a kind gesture.

After John talked about having a code he lived by, he shared a sizzling kiss with Ava.

In Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) office, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) informed her that since he went against his instincts and let her tip off Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), he was paying the price

Jason explained that John was forcing him into a new assignment and that he’d ordered Jason to be on the bus to Quantico tonight.

Anna suggested Jason could cause a fuss in the media and shame the FBI into backing off, but Jason knew Carly would land in prison if he did that.

Instead, Jason pushed Anna to use any FBI connections she might have to get a grip on John.

After Jason left looking less than hopeful, Anna called a man named Jim and pushed him to rein Agent Cates in since he was out of control.

Jim turned out to be Cates’ boss, so his phone call interrupted John’s make-out session with Ava.

John asked if they could pick this up later, so Ava was very much on board with that plan.

After John took off on Tuesday’s GH episode, Ava seemingly got Scott Baldwin (Kin Shiner) on the phone to ask how much it’d help her custody case if Sonny got busted by the FBI.

Back in Anna’s office, John ranted about her calling his boss to complain. Anna warned Agent Cates to set Jason free or she swore she’d bury him.

Once Jason took Carly up to his room, he explained about John ordering him to take a new assignment and catch the bus to Quantico tonight.

Carly ultimately declared that she was going to turn herself in and warned that Jason couldn’t stop her!
