General Hospital Tuesday, October 22 Recap: Heather’s Release, Sam Changes Lucas’ Mind and Sidwell Miami Sighting

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, October 22, reveals that Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) had a strategy session with Ava Jerome (Maura West) and admitted he wouldn’t have taken her case if he’d thought she were guilty.

Ric actually wanted to take Ava on as a client to help Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) accept that Kristina Corinthos-Davis’ (Kate Mansi) tumble was an accident.

Ava seemed touched over Ric’s belief in her and called him a good father before he stepped away for a phone call.

Moments later, Ric returned looking unsettled and let Ava know that he had to take off.

Ava called Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) to join her for a drink, so it didn’t take long for Nina to pick up on Ava’s romantic interest in Ric based on their conversation.

Nina felt like Ric only cared about money and himself, so she made a prediction about things ending in catastrophe if Ava went down this road.

At GH, Ric gave Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) updates on the judge vacating Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) sentence and releasing her tomorrow.

Ric was expecting Heather would be transferred to a minimal security facility or something along those lines, so her imminent freedom caught him off guard.

Although Ric didn’t believe Heather was a threat anymore, he understood that her victims might have a different opinion.

Liz pushed Ric to head over to The Savoy, where Marshall Ashford’s (Robert Gossett) tour sendoff party was in progress.

Since Heather was getting out of prison, Elizabeth insisted that Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) and the others deserved a heads-up.

At The Savoy, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) made a speech singing Marshall’s praises.

Portia, Stella Henry (Vernee Watson), Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), Trina Robinson (Tabayna Ali), Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza), Molly and TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) were all in attendance.

TJ encouraged Molly to go visit Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) ahead of her surgery if that’s what she wanted.

Molly didn’t think Sam was interested in seeing her, so she opted to stick around and be there for Marshall’s bash instead.

Marshall was pleased to see Molly and TJ having a night out, but Molly pulled her hand away from TJ and was clearly still struggling to move forward with him.

Although Marshall played up how TJ and Molly could still be great parents one day, Molly got upset and had to excuse herself.

Later, Ric came with news on Heather Webber, so Portia angrily got everyone’s attention for the announcement.

Ric admitted that the judge ruled in Heather’s favor and vacated Heather’s conviction, which meant that Heather was a free woman starting tomorrow.

In Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) office, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) told him about Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) being a surprise donor match, but he still worried that Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) wouldn’t survive the surgery.

Sonny pushed Dante to stay positive about Lulu’s chances and listened to Dante gush over how much Sam meant to him.

In Sam’s hospital room, Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) arrived as both her patient advocate and as a friend.

Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) also visited with balloons as they praised Sam for helping Lulu.

Sam asked Maxie to run interference if her sisters showed up, so Maxie insisted she could handle that.

Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) eventually spoke with Sam about the surgery, which he couldn’t perform since they were family and it was against hospital protocol.

Sam protested since she trusted Lucas the most, so he agreed to do it after all and felt confident they could work around the rules if she signed some waivers.

Dante eventually arrived to see Sam, so they shared some kisses after he expressed his gratitude for Lulu’s sake.

Elsewhere, Maxie admitted to Spinelli that Lulu still loved Dante and said she wanted to be with him before she fell into a coma.

Maxie never told Dante that, so Spinelli pushed her to keep it that way since they didn’t know if Lulu would awaken.

At Bobbie’s, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) bumped into Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) after a run and learned he’d agreed to do Lulu’s surgery.

Although Lulu’s odds weren’t good, Jordan was someone who beat the odds herself since she’d had a kidney transplant after things looked bleak.

Jordan was hopeful that Isaiah had another miracle left in him.

In Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) office, Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) admitted she’d kept a daughter from Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and felt Anna had no right to judge her after hiding Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough).

Anna argued that Robin was five years old when the secret came out, so that couldn’t be compared to Holly’s decades of deception.

Holly admitted she finally came clean because Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) was romantically involved with her cousin, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly).

Considering all the drama Holly caused, Anna insisted it was best for her to leave town. Holly stomped off and wound up at Sonny’s office next, where she prepared to discuss a business proposition.

Back with Anna, she got an alert on her computer about Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) being spotted at the airport in Miami.

General Hospital spoilers say Sidwell will inevitably unleash some Port Charles mayhem soon, so stay tuned!
