General Hospital Wednesday, November 20 Recap: Sam’s Digitalis Overdose Puts Blame on Liz, Lulu Attempts Escape

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, November 20, reveals that Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) was outside Bobbie’s with Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) when they spotted Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) inside at a table.

Once Liz and Lucky approached him, Lucas explained the Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) situation – though he admitted he was already rethinking attending Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) service anyway.

Lucas was still dealing with guilt over Sam’s surgery, but Lucky and Elizabeth pointed out there was no evidence that he’d made any mistakes.

Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) eventually called Lucas to her office since she had Sam’s autopsy results.

After Lucas arrived, he was relieved over the news that there were no surgical errors.

Lucas wondered what caused Sam’s heart attack, so Portia handed over the paperwork so he could see for himself.

Later, Elizabeth showed up at GH and got updates on Lucas not being responsible for Sam’s demise.

Lucas tried to give Liz a heads-up on something she needed to know, but he was unable to warn her before Portia took her back to her office.

Back at Bobbie’s, Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) pressured Lucky for a decision on the WSB Africa gig he was offering.

Lucas ultimately called Lucky and hinted about Liz being in some trouble, so Lucky seemed concerned.

In Portia’s office, she informed Elizabeth that Sam’s cause of death was attributed to an overdose of digitalis.

That confused Liz since she was in charge of Sam’s nursing team and knew that wasn’t one of the medications ordered for her.

Portia said they’d need to go through all the team’s movements and figure out every med Sam was given as well as every individual who attended to her.

Liz asked if Portia was suggesting that she might be responsible for Sam’s death.

Portia said they needed to conduct an investigation to figure out exactly what happened and offered to continue this conversation with a union rep on hand.

In Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) office, she was determined to find Sam’s will despite Molly Lansing-Davis’ (Kristen Vaganos) attempts to get her to go home.

Molly also admitted Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) was calling her as a witness at Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) upcoming trial, so Alexis fumed over him putting her through that.

It left Alexis worried that it would undo all the progress Molly and Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) had made.

Once Alexis located Sam’s will, she saw that Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) was listed as the guardian for both Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante) AND Danny.

Alexis assumed it was because Sam wanted her kids kept together.

However, Alexis also acknowledged the fact that Sam expressed those wishes a few years back – before Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) returned following his presumed demise.

Molly and Alexis mulled over whether Sam left the will that way on purpose or not.

Although Jason wasn’t going to like this, Alexis was determined to make sure Sam’s wishes were honored and that her kids were a package deal.

In the cemetery, Danny put flowers on Sam’s grave as well as the grave of the baby girl she lost.

After Danny asked for Jason’s thoughts on heaven, he came clean about hurting Lucas earlier and expressed remorse.

Danny also quizzed Jason about what happened with Drew since he’d put it together that they must’ve fought.

Jason refused to divulge what they clashed over and got an earful from Danny since he could’ve been arrested.

Danny pointed out that Drew wasn’t the only one who got hurt. Jason’s actions also hurt Danny and Scout, who probably suspected Drew’s cover-up story wasn’t true.

Jason promised it wouldn’t happen again and thought Sam would be proud of Danny for calling him out, so he shared a warm embrace with his son.

At Sam’s penthouse, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) found Kristina going through Sam’s things and opened up about his guilt.

Since Sam saved Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) to help Dante and Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), Dante felt responsible for her demise.

Kristina assured Dante that Sam made her own decision and suggested it was all right to be relieved that Lulu survived.

The conversation eventually turned to Ava’s trial, so Dante and Kristina were ready to take Ava down since they had been called as witnesses.

At Turning Woods, Lulu raised up her gown and saw that she had a bandage on her side. Once Lulu lifted up that bandage, she saw the scar from her liver transplant surgery.

Since Lulu could hear Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) speaking to her doctor in the corridor, she flashed back to bickering with Cyrus after her article was published.

In that flashback – which was obviously recreated with Alexa Havins in the role – Cyrus warned that he was in a position to make life very difficult for Lulu.

When Cyrus appeared by Lulu’s bedside, she pretended to be comatose again as Cyrus vowed to take care of her as promised.

Cyrus also spoke with Lulu’s doctor about her dramatically improved vitals, but he wanted to tell Laura Collins (Genie Francis) himself and advised against giving her false hope that Lulu would awaken.

Once Lulu was alone again, she got out of bed and wound up falling to the floor. Lulu used the bed to get herself upright again and rubbed her legs as she prepared another attempt at walking.
