General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the writing was on the wall leading up to Dex Heller’s (Evan Hofer) sad fate at GH, but that didn’t make it any less difficult to watch him go! Dex had every reason to be optimistic about his recovery and future with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), but it was all ripped away in an instant.
It’s easy to see that Dex has become Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) latest hospital victim, so the baddie must’ve slipped in undetected at some point.
Since Cyrus’ stabbing didn’t get the job done, a fatal dose of digitalis presumably did the trick instead!
Although Dex’s medical team worked to revive him following his cardiac episode, there was nothing that could save him in the end.
Now that Dex is deceased, Evan Hofer is speaking out about his character’s abrupt exit and how he really feels about it.
For starters, Hofer admitted to Soaps. com that Dex has been in a great deal of danger throughout his run.
That’s why it wasn’t a total surprise when Dex finally landed in a tight spot he couldn’t get out of.
“You never really know if this is the time that your character’s luck is going to run out,” Hofer said.
However, Evan Hofer is keeping a positive attitude despite his job loss.
Although Hofer confessed that he’d miss all the friends he’d made at the studio, he’s at peace with this departure and ready to see what’s ahead.
“Upon leaving, it really was a second home to me for the last two and a half years, and I couldn’t have loved it anymore, or love the people anymore. But It’s time for the next adventure,” Hofer told Us Weekly.
Hofer has some new projects lined up in 2025 and is looking forward to sharing the details when he can.
It’s great that Hofer is staying so positive and embracing all this with an attitude of gratitude.
As for the aftermath of Dex’s demise, General Hospital spoilers say Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) will face one of the toughest experiences of her life.
