General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) recently found out about Willow Corinthos’ (Katelyn MacMullen) betrayal with Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison), so she became part of the blowup at the Quartermaine mansion.
GH fans knew Carly well enough to realize she would absolutely lose it over the news that Willow hooked up with Drew – and sure enough, that’s exactly what she did!
On an episode of The Daily Drama Podcast, Laura Wright spoke to Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) about the whole cheating situation and Carly’s response to it.
After Jason beat up Drew for sleeping with Willow, he chose not to divulge his reason to Carly.
Burton didn’t really agree with Jason’s decision, but Wright admitted she understood why that worked structurally for the show.
“The second Carly finds out, right, given her personality…like I’m assuming scorched earth! Right? She would light that friggin’ house on fire! That’s Carly energy!” Wright insisted.
Of course, now that Carly’s initial reaction has actually aired, we’d say Laura Wright gave a pretty accurate description of Carly’s fury erupting.
Carly definitely went off on both Drew and Willow in a big way, but there’s more backlash to come.
Carly is someone who tends to have explosive reactions like this, so Wright suggested the writers had to allow space for her to have one.
Since Carly would’ve blown things up immediately by confronting Willow and Drew, it made sense from a storytelling standpoint to delay Carly’s knowledge of their tryst.
Although that meant Jason had to keep what he knew a secret, it worked best for the sake of the story.
When the show wrapped up on December 13, Carly was poised to play a major role in the next phase of all the drama.
That’s because Carly showed up to block Willow and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) path as they tried to dash off with Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) kids!
Carly will remain in this fierce mama bear mode for a while, so we’ll bring you more predictions on her upcoming moves and any shockers that might result.
