In tonight’s Grey’s Anatomy season 21 episode 6 called “Night Moves” as per the ABC synopsis, “Teddy and Owen plan a date night that gets derailed in more ways than one, while Jo struggles to do it all at home. Mika adds more to her plate to make up for taking time off to be with her sister, and Levi is faced with a monumental decision.”

In tonight’s Grey’s Anatomy episode, Owen was supposed to have a date night with his wife. He booked an expensive restaurant. He got dressed up.
He thought he had done enough to impress his wife and he later realized that nothing he did was going to take his wife’s mind off of work. She stayed glued to her phone.
She barely looked at Owen. Owen wasn’t upset because he knew who he married. He also got called in for work. There was an event involving a bunch of drunks. Owen got called in to help with the many victims since he ran the Emergency Room. He left Teddy at the restaurant with her new friend. The couple ran into Dr. Cassie Beckman.
Beckman was with her husband. Her husband also got called away. Owen thought nothing of giving the two women his reservation. He failed to notice the tension between Teddy and Cassie.
He just thought they were friendly and he went to work. The drunks that got injured were attending a concert. Schmitt was treating one of the patients. He received a job offer in Texas. Grey Sloane Memorial found out about it. They then offered him a job as an Attending in General Surgery.
It was a great offer and he wouldn’t have to leave his boyfriend and two best friends. And so tonight was to be a trial run to see how well he operates in General Surgery.
Neither the offer in Texas nor the one in the Seattle offered him a opening in Peds. Schmitt wants to be a pediatric surgeon. He wanted to help kids. He could take the fellowship in Texas and still not get offered a position in Peds. Or he could stay in Seattle just to be stuck in General Surgery.
Schmitt was the happiest he’s ever been and now he has to make a choice that will affect the rest of his life. Schmitt was going ahead with the trial run when he received his first official patient. The teenager was Vaughn. Vaughn impaled when he climbed up some rickety steps to do air-guitar.
It was so stupid. The kid was trying to impress his girlfriend. He wanted to check on her when he began crashing. He was bleeding. They had to get the foreign object out of him.
It was a hell of a case for Schmitt to being running point on. As for Vaughn’s girlfriend, she got in trouble with her parents. Joni was hoping to hide the fact that she went to the concert with Vaughn. She asked the doctors and they said they’d keep her secret. Vaugn’s dumb friend Gish wasn’t tied by HIPA laws. He ran into Joni’s parents and he bragged about Vaugn’s air-guitar before he got impaled.
Gish was very dumb. Joni’s parents couldn’t wait to get away from him. They also wanted their daughter away from Vaughn. Vaughn wasn’t even a real musician. Air-guitar was not a guitar. It’s like watching a show on lip-syncing. They aren’t performing at all. Simone had to separate Joni’s parents from Gish or Gish was going to get beaten up.
Simone also said “love you” to Lucas. Lucas was leaving the hospital at the time. He was coming off an eighty hour shift. He was tired. He wasn’t in the right mindset to hear “love you”. Which was why he didn’t say anything when Simone told him she loves him.
Lucas didn’t say it back. Simone panicked all shift on the fact he didn’t say it back. She was worried what it mean if Lucas couldn’t say it back. Is their relationship over? Simone doesn’t know and so she focused on her patients. She was lucky enough not to have been in charge on the heart transplant.
Winston went to get a heart for their patient. He left Jules in charge of said patient as well as everyone else on the floor. Jules was doing fine until one guy developed liquid in his lungs. Jules called Winston. He tried to coach through what she should do when his phone messed up. They didn’t have a great connection and Jules wasn’t hearing anything from Winston.
Jules then had to decide on her own how to save a patient. She got help from Mika. Mika has been doing more hours at the hospital. She took time off when her sister was sick and she didn’t want the bosses to get used to life without her. So, she returned to work. She’s working all hours of the day and sleeping in the on-call room.
She helped Jules save her patient. It reminded the both of them why they love this job. Teddy meanwhile was enjoying herself with her new friend when Cass told her that she has an open marriage. She said that after Teddy said they schedule when to have sex.
They both said things they’d regret in the morning. This goes double for their kiss. Cass kissed Teddy and Teddy pulled away. Cass’s marriage was open, but Teddy’s marriage wasn’t.
Teddy quickly made her excuses to go home early. She now has to decide on whether or not she tells Owen what happened. Owen wasn’t even thinking about the dinner. He watched Schmitt take lead with Vaughn. He saved Vaughn’s kidney. Vaughn got to air-guitar with Joni like nothing happened. Her parents still hate him though. And after the day he had, Schmitt chose to accept the research position in Texas.
The position in Texas could help him get into Peds and that’s what he loves.
Winston returned to the hospital. He credited Jules for saving the patient’s life. He was going to let her assist in the surgery when she chose to give her opportunity to Mika.
Mika needed it for logbook. It also reminded Mika that she was developing something real with Jules before her sister got sick. Maybe they can return to that once things calm down. Mika was dead tired after that surgery. She drove herself and her sister back home when she fell asleep at the wheel. And they got into a car accident.
Link got called in for surgery. His son was sick. His future stepdaughter was cranky. Jo was pregnant and dealing with two toddlers and so Link thought he was helping by asking Amelia to pick up their son. It instead made Jo feel like Link couldn’t handle it now. And he got mad when she openly questioned if he’ll ever be ready to handle it.
Lucas also told Simone he loved her back.
And Teddy told Owen about the kiss. He got mad at her. He didn’t think it was funny and he stormed off because he remembered Teddy is bisexual and he now feels threatened.
