In tonight’s Grey’s Anatomy, Mika got into a car accident with her sister. She shouldn’t even have been driving that day. She was dead on her feet and her sister blamed herself. Chloe knew that Mika took time off when she got sick. Her friends helped cover for her and so Mika was trying to catch up to where she was before with double shifts.

She was barely sleeping. She scrubbed in on a surgery that took several hours. She was dead on her feet when she got behind the wheel of her van. She fell asleep at the wheel. It caused a massive car accident and both sister were rushed into Grey Sloane Memorial. Lucas was working in the ED when he saw his friend come in a patient.

Lucas wanted to work on Mika’s case. He wanted to help her get better. However, there was a rule about treating family members and friends. The rule was not to do it.

The senior doctors told Lucas to leave Mika to them. He wanted to argue when Mika begged him to be with her sister. Lucas doesn’t really know Chloe and so it wouldn’t affect her care if he joined her surgical team. Lucas was helping when the rest of the interns came in. Jules was pretty torn up when she saw Mika in such a horrible condition.

Mika and Jules haven’t actually defined their relationship. They were sorta together. They took a break when Mika was helping her sister and they were just getting back to their routine when this car accident happened. Jules couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw Mika. She had to be dragged away from Mika’s bedside.

Bailey understood that the other interns care for Mika and so she later gave them an update. She told them that Mika was in the best hands. She was getting great treatment and she was still hanging on.

Blue and Simone were just as concerned as Jules only they weren’t letting guilt cloud them. Jules was blaming herself for the car accident. She knew that Mika pulled a double shift and she still traded with her so that Mika could assist Winston in surgery. Jules now believes that she caused the accident.

She was beating herself up and she didn’t care what Blue had to say about it. He’s been where Jules was. He cheated on his fiancée. She found out about it. She got into a car accident because she was so upset and she lost her memory. She forgot him entirely.

Blue knows what he’s talking about when he said don’t let guilt eat you up. He spoke from experience. Jules wasn’t ready to hear that now, but everyone was going to be there for her no matter what. The others didn’t know that Jules was kinda in a relationship with Mika. It wasn’t until Simone got upset with Jules for saying they were all Mika’s friends that Jules admitted they were more than friends. They were together. They haven’t explored the relationship fully. They just knew the other made them happy.

Simone didn’t hesitate after Jules told her about the relationship. She was supportive. She remembered Jules’s favorite vendor machine item and they gorged on candy. Blue on the other hand made sure to visit Mika in between surgeries. He wanted to talk to her. He brought up nonsense about laundry.

He also talked about how he’d be lost without her. Mika was holding their friend group together. They all knew it. They also knew Mika’s liver was also shutting down. The doctors determined that only twenty-five percent of her liver was viable.

The surgeons didn’t know how to keep her alive. They discussed several surgeries. Most of them got shot down and eventually Bailey came up with a surgery that made sense.

She suggested they remove Mika’s spleen to tie her liver into the blood vessels there. It was risky. It had never been done before only the surgeons had to go ahead with it. It was the only chance they had to save Mika’s life. Mika’s sister Chloe had broken both of her legs. It was causing blood clots that were traveling up to her heart.

Lucas had to pull Teddy off on Mika’s case to help Chloe. Lucas saw Mika during her surgery. He was left shaken by what he saw. He even threw up afterwards because he was so off balance that he was scared his friend could die.

This was why the doctors were told to never work on loved ones. Lucas pulled himself together to go back into Chloe’s OR. Her surgery seemed like it went well. Mika’s surgery went better. Schmitt was just glad he got to see Mika before he goes. Schmitt had his last day at the hospital. He was taking a fellowship in Texas.

Schmitt used his last day to help little Ruby Garner to finally leave the NICU. He also asked his boyfriend James to move to Texas with him and he got turned down, but Jo asked him to be the godfather to her baby.

Schmitt was Jewish and he didn’t know if that was allowed and he agreed to it anyway because Jo was his best friend. And it turns out James changed his mind about going to Texas, he loves Schmitt enough to go with him to anywhere.

Chloe’s condition later took a turn for the worse. She was battling chemotherapy on top of crush injuries. It caught up to her. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Lucas felt like he betrayed the trust Mika had in him and he had no idea how to tell her what happened when she later woke up. Thankfully, it was actually Bailey that broke the news to Mika.

THE END!
