Will the “Grey” in Grey’s Anatomy be making an appearance in Season 21? According to Deadline, it sounds like there will be several!
As per the report, Ellen Pompeo will be reprising her Meredith Grey character for at least seven episodes in the upcoming Grey season. She initially left the medical drama as a regular in the middle of Season 19; however, she’ll pop up for a number of shows in Season 21.

According to reports, Grey’s Anatomy, Season 21 will consist of 18 episodes, and Pompeo will appear in a minimum of seven shows, if not more. This news comes off the cusp of reports revealing the Grey’s cast would take a cut when it comes to salaries to save money.
Getting Pompeo back for a commitment of at least seven shows on Grey’s was likely a challenging feat, as she’s currently busy with Natalia, a Hulu limited series. This was the reason she initially stepped back from the medical drama.

Both Midori Francis (Mika Yasuda) and Jake Borelli (Levi Schmitt) announced their departures late last season; however, will be appearing at the beginning of Season 21 to wrap up their storylines. In other news, Jason George (Ben Warren) is set to return to Grey’s as a series regular after he departed from Station 19 due to the series finale.
Meredith Grey is very close to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s; however, her research did cost her job, as well as Owen Hunt’s (Kevin McKidd), Teddy Altman’s (Kim Raver), and Amelia Sheppard’s (Caterina Scorsone), so it’ll be interesting to see how this story plays out in Season 21.
