The good news is that Law & Order fans are excited about Season 24, and all the intriguing drama it will bring; however, the bad news is, there is a major casting change for the 2024-2025 season, as fans bid adieu to a fan favorite.

Law & Order – Lieutenant Kate Dixon Is Set To Exit In Season 23

Unfortunately, actress Camryn Manheim, who plays Lt. Kate Dixon, will be leaving the police procedural when Season 23 wraps up. The announcement of her departure from the drama series hit the day after Law & Order celebrated its 500th show.

Dick Wolf, Law & Order’s creator, commented on Manheim’s exit stating that, he thanks her for “three wonderful seasons helping up relaunch” the show. He adds that, “She is a class act, and I wish her nothing but the best for her next chapter.”

Camryn hopped on Instagram, Friday, May 10 to share details on her exit from the NBC drama. Manheim shared a photo and caption, which offered more information about her decision to exit the popular series.

She writes, “I had the most incredible experience being a part of the Law & Order Universe, and more importantly the Wolfpack. I’m so thankful for the three wonderful seasons that I spent with this wildly talented cast of merry pranksters.”

They are truly New York’s finest. Something wonderful awaits me around the corner, and I can’t wait to see what it is. Until then… Go Knicks!”

Manheim’s last appearance on Law & Order takes place on Thursday, May 16, which also happens to be the show’s Season 23 finale.

In addition, Jeffrey Donovan (Detective Frank Cosgrove) was fired from Law & Order before Season 23 started. According to reports, this was due to “creative reasons”, and Reid Scoot (Detective Vincent Riley), replaced him during this year’s season premiere.
